This is a joke right? I watched this once long ago and forgot that I watched it, so I watched it again. Should have changed the channel. The huge oversight in the movie, first and foremost is when the writers wrote the screenplay for this, they totally messed up the Lot/Sodom and Gomorrah story. Noah NEVER met Lot.Sodom and Gomorrah happened long after Noah was gone and the one who saved Lot was Abram later re-named Abraham by the Lord God. The filmmakers should have read the Bible passages that dealt with Noah. The only thing Noah and his family were responsible for is building the Ark and saving their own family. If you want to see a more accurate and entertaining version of Noah's Ark see the segment contained in the movie "The Bible," released in 1966. That starred the great actor John Huston as Noah who gave a lot of depth, some comedic flare as well as believability to the role of Noah. Plus even the voice of God was more believable. Another thing the writers left out was that Lot had two daughters that were also saved. Judging from all the reviews I read the majority of people who viewed this movie, thought it was horrible. All in all this movie was just plain awful. Both in Biblical inaccuracies, acting and the plot. They even had some strange bit in there about Noah and others going mad on the ship which also was inaccurate. So all things considered, I do not recommend this movie.

I thought that this was an excellent movie! Was every little bit Biblicaly correct? No, but the main points were brought across very well! This movie makes me tear up every time I watch it. At the beginning of the movie it is stated that the creators of this movie took a poetic license with the film as they were not there. This was a group of people's interpretation of what happened put onto paper and then onto film. I am glad that a group of people took the initiative to create this movie and tell the story of Noah's Ark. The story of Noah's Ark is a powerful one, it reminds us of Gods power and his love. It makes me happy to know that a group of people took the time to make this story into a film and share there own interpretation of Noah's Ark with the world.

Once on the classic sitcom "The Beverly Hillbillies" the banker Mr. Drysdale encountered a movie producer who was making a film titled "Spartacus and Ben-Hur Meet Cleopatra and Nero." If that film had actually been made, it would have been more historically accurate than this insulting miniseries. I'm not usually a negative critic, but this is the worst film for it's type that I've ever seen in my entire life.I happen to believe the Bible is historically accurate, but even if Hallmark and NBC didn't believe that, they could have at least made the attempt to get the mythology right. Some have said the film was not intended to be taken seriously and is a tongue-in-cheek comedy. There's no real reason to see it that way, though, because it never comes across as a satire or parody like, for example, "Airplane." That film at least showed some respect for the source material it was parodying. "Noah's Ark" is just one lame episode after another thrown together with some attempts at humor injected. Furthermore, NBC marketed it as a serious Biblical epic.I loved Jon Voight in "Runaway Train" and have always enjoyed performances by Mary Steenburgen. How they couldn't have foreseen what an abysmal turkey this was going to be is beyond me. And what were James Coburn, Carol Kane and F. Murray Abraham doing in this? I still like all of them, but I have to forgive them for this mess. I saw Jon Voight on a talk show right before the miniseries aired, and when asked his opinion of what it was going to be like, he said, "It's going to be big." I hope that it was only his contract that required him to say that. It's big all right, a big vat of sewage.

I have wanted to say this since I first saw the movie, I still will not allow any of my children or grandchildren to watch this. At least not until I tell them and they understand that it is completely fiction. The only thing that I saw that was correct was that animals went onto the Ark, everything else was false. Lot and Noah fighting on the ocean like a pirate movie. Make sure you tell your kids the real story before you allow them to watch it, but really, until they are old enough to understand that it is not real they may have a messed up vision of the Bible. This was the worst Bible movie I have ever seen. Bruce and Evan Almighty were much better and had more to teach. Let your children watch those
