Martin Lawrence is laugh out loud funny! This is my favorite 1990's sitcom next to "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"! I think it's hilarious that Martin Lawrence plays some other characters in the show besides himself. The other characters that Martin Lawrence plays besides himself are Mama Payne, Sheneneh (Martin's neighbor), Otis (the security guard), Jerome (the gold tooth player), Roscoe (the snot-nosed kid), Bob (the white guy), Elroy and many others. Martin Lawrence stars as Martin Payne and the series focuses on Martin's romantic relationship with girlfriend Gina Waters (Tisha Campbell), his job changes from a radio personality (Seasons 1 & 2) to a television personality (Seasons 3-5) in Detroit, and the variety of friends Martin hangs out with along the way: the loud-mouthed and sassy Pam James and his best friends Tommy Strong and Cole Brown. Martin Lawrence is hilarious and I think his friends Tommy and Cole are funny too. This show premiered on FOX back in August 1992 and lasted for 5 seasons until May 1997.User Rating: 10/10 BOTTOM LINE: HILARIOUS
... View MoreMy favorite "Martin" episode was when Martin, Gina, Pam and Cole told their versions of how Martin and Gina met. Martin portrayed himself as a pimp that Gina was all over, while Gina had Martin as a shy nerdy type guy. Pam had Martin, Cole and Tommy as thugs, while Cole's version lasted only 5 seconds, with Pam all over him (yeah, right!)But Tommy's version was the closest to the truth, with him, Martin and Cole crashing a private party that Gina and Pam attended. Cole and Tommy wound up getting thrown out by security, but Martin somehow convinced Gina to tell the security guard that he was her man, even though they never met before. Quite interesting. Also, any episode with Dragonfly Jones is funny as I don't know what. If anyone remembers the episode when Martin and Gina first met, let me know! Peace!

Does anyone know when they will be available? All the characters were very good and I so sorry to see this show end. You can never recapture laugher like that. All the episodes were funny. I especially loved the one when Martin thought he was being hen-pecked and Gina had the bat to him. I also loved the episode when he went on the hunger strike.I wonder what the writers of the show are doing now and if they will write something as similar.

Every episodes I try to catch every week on thursdays. 1992 was a great year for Martin with his career going to upper heights. Like co-starring with Eddie Murphy in the movie Boomerang and having his own show on fox network tv. The show centered around him living in a one bedroom apartment with his girlfriend(Tisha Campbell)and friends Tommy and Cole dropping by. There's also Martin's girlfriend's best friend Pam,who he rarely gets along with. Martin and Pam's wise-cracks are some of the main reasons people enjoyed watching the show. Brother man who occasionally sneaks into Martin's apartment and impose himself on Martin's belongings is one of the funniest. It was so much going on with this show like Martin's alter-egos Jerome,Sheneneh,Roscoe, his mother,Elroy the mechanic, and the white man Bob. These alter-egos came in handy when the strong element in the show Tisha Campbell left in 1996 after a personal dispute between Martin and herself. After she left the show a good handful of fans left also and Martin's comic routines weren't as funny so the show was cancelled in April of 1997. The show went in syndication on UPN and a few years later on USA network. Though the show had a very good start and a terrible ending,Martin will always be in the catagory as one of the funniest shows of all time.
