"Noah & Saskia" (Season 1) Saskia Litras (Hannah Greenwood), an Australian high school student and guitar player, is shocked when she discovers that one of her songs she put on the internet for people to listen to has been stolen without permission by a person known only online as Max Hammer. Saskia vows revenge, and creates a new web handle for herself, Indy, to chase Max down. But Max Hammer is actually just Noah King (Jack Blumenau), a teenager living in England who writes an online comic book for a hobby, and who only wanted to use Saskia's songs on his site because he liked them so much. Behind their aliases, Noah and Saskia form a working partnership which blossoms into a friendship...and maybe more. But they are thousands of miles apart, and Saskia is beginning to feel an attraction towards her work colleague, Ernesto (Bernard Angel).A very interesting thing about "Noah & Saskia" is the fact that it is a British-Australian co-production. But that's not the most interesting thing about the show, because it's more interesting how truly great this show is. "Noah & Saskia" is a wonderful, hilarious television show, with writing that is smarter than your average children's show. It avoids the typical 'You've Got Mail' and 'A Cinderella Story' clichés that accompany stories about internet relationships. But the best thing about it is the surprising performances here from stars Jack Blumenau and Hannah Greenwood, who share a lot of chemistry despite the fact that their characters are halfway across the world from each other. Unfortunately, there's no word yet of a second season of this strong show, but I'm glad it exists at all.~ 8/10 ~
... View MoreI watched the series from the beginning-the story of two fourteen year old, one from Australia and the other from England (where i come from!) and i think it was the best programme TV had ever aired! the story begins as Noah (aka Max Hammer) uses some of Saskia's (aka Indy) music for a comic he is writing. she goes to attack him for this use of music, but they end up becoming internet buddies. a really good story, with brilliant scripts, about how people can be best friends without knowing each other, so it was a really good viewing. I'd give it 10/10 submitted by Stephanie. PS It's on channel 1 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5 until half past.
... View MoreAn excellent, well-written show, that does an applaudable job of describing the nature of internet friendships. The normality of these two teenagers' lives in comparison to the way they see each other is humorous and really endears the viewer to the show. Just another example of the excellent material being produced by the BBC these days. It's nice to see a show that doesn't try to patronise young people, but remains funny, dramatic and highly entertaining. The scripts are thought out extremely well and the dialogue and effects are superb. Another aspect that is interesting to see is how the two teens struggle with their feelings for each other and their feelings for 'real-life' friends. When it comes to choosing (as Saskia has to choose between Max and her friend Renee, or her more-than-friend Ernesto) a monologue of their thoughts keeps the viewer up-to-date on their feelings of guilt and frustration. The technique of having characters talk to the camera is one employed in many shows, which doesn't always work. But in Noah and Saskia it compliments the themes of the show perfectly, and ensures that the viewer is not left behind and can really empathise with Noah and Saskia. The acting from the two main roles is incredible, and they have a lot of talent. I hope to see both of them take their careers further, because I was genuinely impressed by the level of maturity that is clear in every single episode. If you haven't seen this show yet, be sure to check it out. I love it!
... View MoreI love this! It's a cute show with a witty script and some great story lines. Noah & Saskia also has a great theme, as I have not seen many shows that are about good internet friendships. The only ones I have seen are about the ones with creeps on the end (like Sarah Platt in Coronation Street a while back). I love the way they show the closeness of the two as it reminds me of me and my close internet friend. They've done it really well. Noah & Saskia, for those who don't know, is a teenage based programme about two internet friends, Noah King and Saskia Litras (obviously, hence the title!!) who work on a website/comic thing together in their spare time and the programme shows them going on through their everyday lives by day, at school and such, and how they get on. Like Saskia will have falls out with her friends and Noah has a little cousin Eddie to deal with. Despite the fact that Noah lives in London and Saskia in Austrailia, they consider themselves the best of friends, under the alias Max Hammer (for Noah) and Indy (for Saskia). Blumenau and Greenwood are great as Noah and Saskia, as they capture the whole thing brilliantly. They're really good actors and I hope to see more from them. They are very convincing as their characters. This is one of the best things I have seen from CBBC so far. I really recommend this if you are looking for a great way to spend half an hour, and if you like teenage friendship type of shows. Wicked!!
