British archaeologist Jago Cooper presents several of the lesser known pre-Columbian society in South America. Some were conquered by the Spanish while others are already subjugated before the Spanish arrived. He looks into the Chachapoya people on Peruvian mountain tops, the Tiwanaku people in the Bolivian high plateau of Altiplano, the Tairona on the Caribbean coast and the Muisca in the mountains both in Colombia, and the kingdom of Chimor on the coast of Peru. This is an educational program of some fascinating cultures that are relatively unknown to the general public. Jago Cooper is a good presenter although I miss the days of the elder British explorer doing these types of programs. With only four programs, this doesn't have the scope to cover the whole of South America. We're only getting isolated cases of a much bigger story.
