Great writing and the translation from the movie is not so bad. The casting job stopped me at S1E5!!! Why the hell bring two comedians from a major TV show (Jennifer Carpenter/Desmond Harrington) to play about the same character, with about the same type of interaction!! In this way, why don't bring Michael C. Hall in FBI's blood sparter expert and call im « Rex»? You know, some country's movie industry have a short list of comedians who can handle some specific character but I'm guessing the biggest of the world could do better!

It started out so well. The film was great, and the TV series seemed to honour all that was good about it, with quirky storylines, a likeable cast, and a comparatively intelligent feel. Then it all went catastrophically wrong. Episode 13 made a "joke" out of self-consciously pandering to the network's mindless censorship regulations, but instead of smartly satirising the mindlessness, it joined in (breaking the fourth wall in the process) and the ensuing episodes quickly became trapped in the new air of idiocy that had been unleashed. For a show about a guy who becomes the most intelligent person in the world, it fell into the obvious trap of depicting intelligence through a prism of stupidity - in much the same way that "Scorpion" did. The net result was a show that ultimately insulted the intelligence of its audience, rather than wisely (and for an American show) bravely celebrating it. Hence, the audience who is, as always, catered for in abundance - the lowest common denominator - is entertained, while those of us with higher IQs and more cerebral tastes - surely the target audience for a show about high intellect - are reduced to being the butt of the joke; insulted, disappointed, and forced to search elsewhere for a show that can stimulate our minds as well as entertain us.It's rare for me to give up on a show before the season 1 finale, but by episode 19 I had reached the limit of my endurance. Pun intended.

This show has an unique story and I loved the actors aswell. It's a real shame that they cancelled the show! The humour used in this series is really fun and does not seem staged at all!
