This is a excellent show and I though season one was good! This is great television. Fringe has taken the most obscure pseudoscience, and created a entire world around it. They did it episode by episode oddity by oddity and all while managing to keep a mystery for a back story being told a little at a time throughout the seasons. There is a puzzle of symbols as well which is a cipher that has the audience captivated as well. Can you figure it out? I would suggest you try. It only adds to the excitement, and the fun of the whole mystery!

An intellectual plot .. with great combination of possibilities with scientific explanation , essence of humanity and faith .. and Walter Bishop character is outstanding .. it worth your time ,, not complete sci-fi.. the touch of love and emotion leave an unexplained touch in my soul

I loved this story and John Noble is just beyond amazing as an actor. You can almost think he must have a personality like Walter, because he is so convincingly a fragile genius, until the alternate world Walter. Just a captivating story! I think this is one of the best shows out there.

The rating is conditional on the informed viewer watching (enjoying) the first four seasons and scrupulously, as if your life depended on it, avoiding S05.With that caveat, FRINGE is not merely good it is great. It is also unique. Take any TV expert at random and if you want a fast bar bet, and easy cash, challenge him to find an equivalent or an analog. You will win the bet. There are none.Back in the days when JJ Abrams was still honing his craft (now he is a God of TV and movies) this ensemble dip into the realm of strange and odd was almost as good as it gets. It is also astounding that a cast which was so perfect in this project largely disappeared afterwards. There are for example entire reviews simply devoted to "Anna Torv's face" which is really an homage to how much she is missed.The first 4 seasons are all great but the one with the parallel reality and "Walternet" is a keeper. You will remember that arc long after you watch it. It is haunting.Season 5 is bizarre but not in a nice way. Somebody high up the food chain decided to change the tone, the mood, and the plot construction of the series in the final season. It is painful to watch. Even the cast seem uncomfortable and never smile. It is so bad that if you watch S05 and ignore this advice, the pain of that experience will over-ride your positive thoughts on Season 1 to 4.You have been warned.
