This could have been a blockbuster, A navy commander of a nuclear sub caught up in the world between obeying orders and nuking 4.3 million people to further a covert objective for --oh we all know who gives such orders--and after deifying the US government to the point of ignoring a direct firing order--in the eight bells episode they kowtow to a little rat of a man on a local power trip to the point of sacrificing one of their own. Nobody bought that --stupid editor in whop chief -- you blew it--that could have been a cult classic now because of your incredibly stupid somehow politically correct writing/thinking---its just so much drivel

I haven't see so good show like this, for a while. Alias show could be one of them and Person of Interests, Jericho is close to them. Good action, at the end, good conclusion can be made, acting is better than expected. Good atmosphere, picture. All in all, everything is in superlative. Just to ask yourself, how come is possible to fire two missile even on Pakistan, not saying on USA without be noticed from their domestic air defense. That's the big question. What do they think, that defense army is sleeping. By my opinion, there isn't better mark out of 9, because soon or latter something better will come. So the previous mark, if it was 10 out of 10, will make no sense.

This series looks like it has been written by a child with too little or too much imagination, it's hard to tell which.Firstly it is completely unrealistic, both in the plot and on the technological level. An artefact to make a submarine instantaneously disappear, communication with a diver from a submarine in deep water (that would require ELF with a *very* long antenna for the poor diver), people watching from the submarine at mid-depth, missiles cruising at insane speeds... are just plain ridiculous and really distract from the interesting part of the story.Or lack thereof actually.Because the plot resembles to an incoherent succession of badly digested theme-based episodes, each of which has a kind of moral related to the theme. And we see Spetsnaz attacking a small lost island, a submarine crew invading land, a US secretary of defense going all the way to this island to engage talks with the captain of a rogue submarine (whereas they apparently have video-conference available at some other time), people delivering message on TV to their family, gas attacks (with time-limited bizarre effects), ... and so on.So in conclusion, the plot is shabby at best, on the edge of uninteresting, within a completely improbable and inconsistent universe. Better than 24? I would say, even worse.1 point for the nice island vistas.

I've been waiting with anticipation for this series. At last, a show that has a true Tom Clancy feel about it. That is it was until I watched it.I understand that writers can take artistic licence especially when it comes to jam packing drama into 45 minutes. The obvious victims of this licence however is the attention to detail and the plot.Whilst I don't expect absolute accuracy, I would prefer the writers don't think their audience are complete idiots. There were holes in the plot that you could pilot Red October through and the script must have been scribbled in crayon as I don't think the writers would have been old enough to use an ink pen. They had something that could have been great but they turned into to a military flavoured ( loosely used term) Days of our Lives.*SPOILER ALERT* Where was the discipline of the sailors, why were the officers never on board, you can nuke you're own country but a two bit hood can't be dealt with, why were civilians in charge of a NATO outpost in the Pacific, why was the CO always crying and flying off the handle. I would expect more emotional stability from a person who is in charge of nuclear weapons, why was a White House aide allowed to make strategic decisions ( in fact her character had the most balls of the whole cast) and where the hell was the President in all of this. This show due to its lack of fundamental research has not only damaged the brand of the US Armed Forces but it also further demonstrates the growing contempt that the writers have for the viewing public.
