I saw the high ratings and thought - hell yeah... ( i watch every documentary about crime/psychology ) i just don't understand. it consists of 90% re enactments and 10% him talking. the whole thing is one theater play. no original material, no nothing.i really just don't understand the rating and can only derive that other reviewers just like this guy and rate his 'persona' that is appealing to them.i like it when the cases in the foreground and not a single person (that in my opinion appears a little too much in love with himself.)the 3 stars are simply for the effort of all people involved in this. ...moving on
... View MoreOh wow, when I first discovered this show a few months ago, I couldn't believe I had never watched it or even heard of it before. I'm a true crime addict and I enjoy reading stories that are non- fiction and all of the true crime and forensic science programs that are on cable. Being a retired pharmaceutical scientist, I really get a kick out of the dialogue when the actors talk about gas chromatography, UV and IR spectroscopy, microscopic analysis, and on and on. It's like I'm part of a secret decoder club, lol.Anyway, I do so love me some Lt. Joe Kenda! I think I am turning into a real fan-girl for him!! He has the 'cop face' for sure (I've been married to one for 25 years so I ought to know) and his demeanor is spot on (reminds me of my uncle- retired NYPD).Lt. Kenda, may God Bless you and Keep you. You seem like an awesome man and I'm quite sure you never met a guilty perp that you didn't have the satisfaction of throwing into the klink.
... View MoreWith a lifetime of experience, an eye for detail and a dry delivery, Joe Kenda is good company indeed. There's no nonsense with Joe - there's been a crime and that offends him. Things must be made right. This is a great show and I hope the producers have sense not to muck about with the formula for the new season. The simplicity of the show is what really sells it. A straight-forward narrative with its re- enactments make for a great yarn, and it's perfect as it is. Joe walks us through an investigation and pieces the puzzle together for us, showing us what he sees. Well, my my my. And so another villain is caught.
... View MoreI think the show might be OK, but Mike Biddle is a terribly poor actor, if you want to call him that. He is the breaking point for me. I'm appalled that a director chose this guy. It's pitiful to have to slug through his scenes to get to the good stuff. I'm going to do my best to avoid this self proclaimed thespian any chance I get. Unfortunately, I have to write ten lines of text for this review to count, so I will do my best. I cannot stand Mike's acting and I hope others see his poor performances for what they are. I'm actually ashamed that he lives close to me. I hate Mike Biddle. I can see why he is B movie acting. He is in the same category as Sandra Burnhart. Maybe he'll crash and burn too. I can only hope.
