I really do enjoy this show and it has left me unable to breathe from laughing at times, and so I have rated it very high. However, I am often frustrated by what I see as lost potential. The show starts very strong with a great guest star in the first episode who plays along well and is hilarious. However, many of the guest stars are either unfunny or not a good fit for this show (Chelsea Peretti, Aubry Plaza, Gillian Jacobs). They need to be more selective of guest stars. Spencer and Jeff are great regular cast members. Spencer particularly is hilarious and carries the show. Dan Harmon himself can be funny (even if most of his jokes are along the lines of "Oh sh**!") but he needs to prepare better. He often bumbles around and makes unfunny jokes that are just awkward. Erin McGathy is the biggest thing holding this show back. I could not believe it when I saw she was back in the second season. Not only is she not funny, she is completely unfunny. I usually cringe when she attempts to make a joke. Her only positive contributions are when she says or does something stupid that the others can make a good joke out of. To end on a positive note, the show is very creative and the production value is high. Very funny, but I hope that changes are made before season 3 (and I do hope there is a season 3).
... View MoreI like a lot of the jobs and the thematic of this series. I do understand that the guys making the show need to make jokes and comments on everything, real games are usually a little more chill, but whatevs, this is TV. Then again, I do think that if the guys making the show took the game a little more serious they could actually have more fun doing it than just doing it to make a show. I mean, in real games things are usually not so joking at every second, but when crazy stuff comes down it's usually way crazier than in the show. I've had Nazi elves, guys who want to steal things bigger than planet under their cloaks, etc. And let's not even start with epic level shenanigans. This is NOT how you play D&D tho, there are more rules that keep you from doing half the nonsense like making things appear that they do in this show, and even without the rules, games usually have a hint of seriousness, because let's be honest, the guys in this show don't take the game seriously for one second, they should stop trying to be funny at every second, or at least stop unless they have an actual joke to make instead complete mumbling and nonsense. Randomness is funny just so far.Overall the show is pretty good and it introduces people to something close to D&D games.
... View MoreOMG - this is truly ridiculously funny! I am a 41 year old ex-D&D nerd, and this just made me giggle endlessly! It took me back to the sad (yet funny) days of sitting round a ping-pong table in my basement, and wasting entire weekends playing D&D. I'm not sure how non-D&D playing people will see it, but if you EVER played D&D, you will laugh your ass off.
... View Morewhen i first watched this show i was just like " what?! this is not a cartoon ?!" i would switch off ...but i didn't and ...and...and yes it's a cartoon , but it's also a show ,Harmonquest is a kind of super mutant mixing role playing game ,an awesome show with people playing RPG (role playing game) and one of the most cool animation , it's like if you were playing with your friends ...and making the adventure into your brain ...around a table...but you aren't :) ...it's a totally crazy adventure into an heroic fantasy world with orcs, goblins ,elves , dragons , pirates and stuff ... like disc world ,the lord of the rings with the "Rick and Morty"'s fun in it , the game master Spencer Crittenden is just excellent , Dan Harmon is great as always, his team Erin Mcgathy , Jeff Bryan Davis are brilliant and there is a new guest star for each episode (Paul f. Tompkins as Teflonto or the Hawaiian coffee Aubrey PLaza )... this is just the best cartoon i saw since Rick & Morty. if you didn't understood anything of what i said it's maybe because i'm french and i'm really really really sorry about that ;)
