I have seen all the episodes and even though I haven't watched it in a long time, It was honestly one of the best shows from my childhood. This show was always addicting to watch, since it was so entertaining and I never left my seat on the couch for it. Writing this review just reminds of me of all the splendid times I had watching it. All the acting was fantastic and descriptive, from Drake, Josh and Megan to the parents, it was all a memorable laugh. I just wish they could've made more episodes, 57 is not enough episodes :( at all for a fun and entertaining show Drake and Josh truly was for a show of child antics, drama, fun and entertainment.
... View MoreDrake & Josh is truly one of the best sitcoms ever made! It features a realistic setting, good characters, and good life lessons. Drake & Josh is a dangerously funny show about two boys living in San Diego, California with very different personalities who suddenly become brothers when their parents fall in love and marry. One is a permanently lucky, guitar playing heartthrob, and the other is an awkward but lovable geek. One of Josh's many gags is that he comically shouts single words at the end of sentences for emphasis. EMPHASIS! Drake plays guitar, rarely does his homework, and is a master at getting girls. Josh is a guy who goes out of his way to do well at school and everything else, which drives Drake crazy. Other characters include the sister, Megan, from Drake's side of the family, who pulls mean-spirited pranks on her brothers for no reason, especially Josh. She's the semi-antagonist, but she does care somewhat for her brothers, helping them more than a dozen times. Then there's Audrey Parker, who's Drake's attractive mother who's a firm but fair mom to Drake and Josh, and Walter Nichols, who's Josh's dad, and has a job as a weatherman for the city's local news station. The show is hilarious with almost no flat jokes at all. Even though the show's a family sitcom, it's edgy enough for most adults to enjoy. Dude, I'm 21 and admittedly love this show! Unlike most Nickelodeon rubbish, this show remains watchable throughout the whole series. Definitely recommended for folks looking for humor as well as serious family issues. Watch it now!
... View MoreNickelodeon's "Drake & Josh" is a light-hearted, fun show. Series creator/producer Dan Schneider certainly knows how to create great teen shows that are actually funny, and not stupid like most teen shows are today, and it certainly appears that he had time to take notes on what to do and what not to do. I guess it stems from Schneider's time as a former teen actor himself during the 1980s. I've long been a fan of "iCarly" and the more recent "Victorious." But I'm coming to "Drake & Josh" about seven years after its premiere, and perhaps two or three years after it was in its heyday. I'm currently catching re-runs in the morning before I go to work, and it's helping me to get out of a funk I'm in at the moment. Its humor and light-hearted nature are really reaching out to me. The show follows the mis-adventures of two stepbrothers, the titular Drake (Drake Bell) and Josh (Josh Peck). The show also features Schneider regular Miranda Cosgrove (star of "iCarly") as their meddling little sister Megan, who also has a few adventures of her own. As far as the actors go, Drake Bell is good as the popular ladies man Drake, but I have to give more respect to his co-star Josh Peck. I've really liked Josh Peck since I saw him in the movie "The Wackness" (2008), and I've personally found him to be more easy to relate to as an actor, and a character on the show, due to his nerdy-boy looks, slight social ineptitude, and his general good-hearted nature. I'm glad to count him as one of my favorite young actors of the moment and I hope he gets more recognition in the future. This is a good show. I'm glad it comes on during a time when I can catch it on TV to help me through my funk right now.10/10
... View MoreIt's not the worst show on Nickelodeon. That dubious honor goes to "Zoey 101" and "Naked Brothers Band". But this sitcom is still lacking quality in almost every aspect. The two stars (Parker and Nichols) are both graduates of the obnoxious sketch series "The Amanda Show" where they were lead to believe that in order to be funny all you have to do is over-act rather than master real comedic timing (something both boys are seriously lacking). The two leads are constantly out-shined by their supporting cast including Miranda Cosgrove, as their little sister, and Jerry Trainor, as a recurring character who works with Josh. Not surprisingly, both Miranda and Jerry would later star together in "iCarly" which is only slightly better than this show. In terms of writing, this show is completely unoriginal. A common trait amongst all of Dan Schneider's Nickelodeon shows. This man is a true hack. Literally all of his shows are nothing more than stolen "I Love Lucy" scripts reworked for kids. I'm not even trying to be mean. All of these shows regularly feature thinly disguised "Lucy" plots only without the expert staging and set-ups. And very rarely do the writers ever add their own unique spin. It's all dreadfully predictable. Sure, a lot of sitcoms recycle old stories but at least most of them can be forgiven thanks to witty dialogue and good casting. "Drake & Josh" is instead hampered down by crummy dialogue that thinks it's funnier than it actually is. Combine that with smug actors who think they're funnier than they actually are and you've got a bad show. Just to give you an idea of how bad the writing is on this show, I'll describe one episode I watched recently while babysitting (which is the only reason I'm even familiar with this series). The boys get in trouble because Josh is addicted to video games while Drake is addicted to junk food. In one scene Josh nags Drake for being so unhealthy. For those not familiar with the show, Josh is the morbidly obese one (at least when this episode was made) and Drake is the skinny, lanky one. So, yeah, they actually wrote an episode where the big fat kid scolds the skinny guy for eating too much junk. Seriously, they did that. Eventually the boys make a bet on which one of them can go longer without giving into their addiction. Sound familiar? Remember when Lucy bet Ricky that she can go longer without buying a new hat than he can without losing his temper? Same...exact...plot. So if you've never watched television before in your life, you might be amused by this pale imitation of a sitcom. Which is why it's so popular with children. They've haven't seen anything better yet. Others will most likely find the show aggravating.
