When I started watching this show, I really liked it and I find the title itself very interesting. The songs were funny and I was really hooked watching this show. Season 1 was great and first half of season 2 was okay. I really don't mind having unexpected endings but there are just scenes in this show that are so weird that makes you think "What the hell? That is not okay."Watching the other half of season 2 and season 3 felt like nothing makes sense anymore in the show. Like it the issues were just made to extend the story to season 3. Suddenly Rebecca is becoming a dumb psycho which just started as a smart girl who is obsessed with her ex. Now she's just a horrible person. I'm just so frustrated at how this show has turned out. Sad.
... View MoreI have never been as mixed up about a title as I was with this one. On the plus side of the ledger, Rachel Bloom has true star quality. You cannot take your eyes off of her, and she has great hooters. The other cast members are also extremely talented. But the premise is, even giving it slack for its inventiveness, "crazy". Nothing about Josh made it seem like he would be the object of such non-stop stalking, other than the fact that he was her teenage summer romance at camp. But the thing I found most objectionable was that in every single situation, the so-called comedy went so far over the edge to pain that it was: not funny.Listen to what I am saying. I feel like they took a plot and songs that could have been edgy and *cute*, and made it painful to watch.I am pretty sure I would not be the only one who feels this way, so I am just forewarning anyone else.Because of this, although we finished watching all of Season 1, we are not going to continue. Life is too short, and it is really too bad, because I wanted to like this.
... View MoreThis hilarious comedy musical continues for a great second season of songs and strange romance. Rebecca Bunch (Rachel Bloom) continues to woo her ex-boyfriend Josh Chan (Vincent Rodriguez III). She left her life behind in New York and traveled to West Covina where she now works as a lawyer with her best friend Paula Proctor (Donna Lynne Champlin) for the law firm run by Darryl Whitefeather (Pete Gardner). The biggest obstacle for Rebecca achieving her dream is Josh's current girlfriend Valencia (Gabrielle Ruiz). The music is great with a series of catchy songs and the humor is wonderful with tons of subtle jokes and pop culture references. The songs range from all sorts of odd topics including period sex and boobs and viewers never know when they will break out into an outrageous song with plenty of fitting puns. Rebecca's affection for Josh is strong but her romantic inclinations bounce around from Greg (Santino Fontana) back to Josh to her new asshole boss Nathaniel Plimpton (Scott Michael Foster). ... View MoreThis show gets a bad rap from the reviews I've read and i have to say they all suck. Those who wrote the reviews, I mean. Let's get something abundantly clear: This show is not going to be like Sienfeld, or the Simpsons, or crowded, or the big bang theory. This is a new show so stop trying to compare it to other. The actors in the show(especially Donna Lynne Champlin and Rachel Bloom) are all awesome. This show is simple. This show is about the awkwardness of life and chasing love. This show is about a woman who is confused with her life and wants nothing but happiness in her life. That might sound boring but the show is off the hook. The show (being a musical comedy)is simply put, a joy to watch and the songs...oh my god the songs are the best part. The songs are there to help us convey the emotions of people and the lyrics will send you into a laughing frenzy and season 2 only gets crazier.
