Dave Chappelle is a genius. He takes racist stereotypes and skewers them in the funniest ways imaginable. Some critics say he is too foul mouthed and crude, but walk into any middle school in America and you'll hear 11-year-olds saying worse stuff than he does. Dave is a brilliant comic and it's a shame this hilarious show didn't last longer. If you've never seen it, SEE IT!! Some of the best sketches:"Black Bush"- Dave imagines what it would be like if President Bush was black. The part about the UN was superb."Trading Spouses"- Trading Spouses has gone interracial with hilarious results!"World Series of Dice"- Live from the Marcy Projects in Brooklyn, New York!"Clayton Bigsby"- oh my goodness, BREAHTAKINGLY HILARIOUS!!! How did Dave think of something so clever, so perfect as a blind, black white supremacist?"The Mad Real World"- that was so funny I was in tears. "The Niggar Family"- a hilarious and surprisingly insightful look at racial epithets"True Hollywood Stories": the Rick James one is hilarious, but the Prince one is really funny, too, especially if you are a Prince fan.And the best of all:"The Racial Draft"- the funniest thing I've seen in a long, long time. Watch Chappelle's Show and you won't be disappointed!

OMG!!! How can you even watch this crap..???..??? I'm SOOOOOOO sorry, but Dave Chapelle IS NOT FUNNY!! Is it just me or do you have to be black to understand the jokes????? I've got to admit that I'm not the biggest fan of American comedy-shows, but this has got to be rock bottom.And to say that their acting is great just shows how little you know. No one in the show is convincing (and/or funny).C'mon you guys. You need to go to Britain and get some humor-classes. Britain makes the funniest shows, always have and always will. I don't know if it's something in the water over there or if it's because they're all inbreed. Still they're some crazy funny people!! So, Chapelle Show=NOOOOOO British comedies=YEEEEEES

I am in a distinct minority when it comes to this show. I found Chappelle oddly amusing as the insult comic in THE NUTTY PROFESSOR but not the slightest bit amusing on his own show. The characters, the routines, the gags, all leave me cold. Clearly, the show is aimed at a very specific audience. I just don't happen to be a member of that audience. I grew up during the heyday of Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy. Now, those guys were funny. Chappelle is about as funny as Steve Urkel. Come to think of it, Urkel has had funnier moments. And now I have to type some nonsense to get up to IMDb's required 10 lines. Bear with me while I do this. At least my filler is funnier than anything Chappelle ever uttered.

Dave Chappelle is not only a comic, he is a cultural critic who has achieved a crossover dream and is taking some other promising talents along with him. His cast is made up of artists and cameos that bring to bear a mockery that gores all sacred cows. So. Steak, anyone? Pick a screen, any screen. This boy and his crew have some serious chops.
