Dr. Megan Hunt (Dana Delany) is a self-possessed former neurosurgeon who suffered some setbacks. It's been 4 years since a car accident left her with unknown medical issues which led to her patient's death. Kate Murphy (Jeri Ryan) hired the highly skilled doctor as a new medical examiner. She works with Ethan and Curtis in the lab as well as partnering with investigator Peter Dunlop. Police detectives Bud and Sam work the cases. She is desperate to reconnect with estranged daughter Lacey Fleming. It's been awhile since Dana Delany has led a TV show, not since China Beach anyways, that lasted more than a season. She's good enough to anchor a police procedural. There is a functional group around her. Her relationship with Lacey holds a little interest. Her abrasive character never truly found the required love interest although Peter comes close. There are some big cast changes in the third and final season and they try to pump up the action/danger. It was probably done to try to save it from sure cancellation. Both renewals were surprises. It was obvious that this show was the low man on the network. The final Hail-Mary failed.

I fell in love with this show the very first episode of the first season. I fell in love with the characters and even thought they have a new cast this season, the storyline is fantastic. Its truly engaging. I love Megan as a character. She's fearless, smart, and knows what shes doing. I also love the fact that this isn't just a crime show. It has a storyline. I'm excited to see where Tommy's and Megans relationship will go Sadly, I might never know It was wonderful. It truly pains me to know they're canceling it. Its like they're ripping out a piece of my heart.... TAKE A STAND FOR BODY OF PROOF. WE MUST COME TOGETHER AND SAVE IT THIS SHOW MUST GO ON

Basically, it's a very good medical/murder/mystery/drama that is totally ruined by it's annoying main character. Granted she is supposedly the best doctor on the face of the earth (sarc). But does she have to be so annoying. During the first episode I figured she was a bitter person lashing out at everyone. So I was expecting a least some change in her annoying behavior as the season progressed. But this never happened. There were moments when she seemed open to change, but they were short lived. I watched the first episode of season two hoping that after her friend's death she wouldn't be so annoying. Again I was disappointed. If they were going for a character similar to Dr Brennan's in Bones, they completely missed the mark. This show is a must "not" see for me. I gave it a 5 do to the writing and the other main characters. But her annoying behavior over shadows them all.

I can't.I'm a big fan of Dana Delany and Jeri Ryan and an even bigger fan of women in tight skirts and teetering designer high heels. Yet even the obvious love affair shown by the show's creators, directors and wardrobe people for my fetish for these things doesn't save it.The writing is just god-awful terrible at times. It's every cliché in the book, followed by stilted dialogue, followed by completely unbelievable scenarios, followed by stupefyingly lack of knowledge of police and crime scene procedure. An example of the latter... a murder victim is discovered in a house and yet for some reason the first responders don't search the rest of the house and so the ME and crew stumble upon it later?!? The second victim was in plain view in another part of the house! The two victims are husband and wife, last known to be in the house. The first victim was killed in horrific fashion. And yet they discover the other victim only when they happen to barely hear the buzz of her cell phone when the son (who's also there with our forensic team) calls her (for the umpteenth time). I mean, wtf?!? And don't get me started on the cliché of every time our main character gets intimately involved with someone that the phone rings. Writers please take note. Can we just never have that happen again in any movie or show? Those are just a couple of examples. I could go on and on.I'm torn about the almost certain cancellation of this shown. I mean have you seen Jeri Ryan in a little black dress? Or Dana Delany prancing down the hall in 5 inch heels and seamed stockings no less? Truly sublime. And the beauty of it there's no in-show reason for this completely unsuitable for work attire. I'm dying to know who is behind the wardrobe involved and the lingering camera shots devoted to the outfits and fab footwear. It's got to be more than one person involved. It's just too bad the rest of the show pretty much sucks.
