I honestly have to say that I don't really care too much for television let alone reality shows but this one is the American Idol of the dance world! Although it is a great show i have to agree with a few of the previous comments about the show. One thing is that I do like the judges they do their job well. They give constructive criticism while at the same time still being respectful to the dancers which makes it a genuine show, its not just there for the ratings, you can tell that the judges have this art in their hearts and aren't trying to make a character of themselves like a lot of other reality shows can tend to be to me. One thing I also agree with is the fact that the camera does move around way too often, it kind of makes it hard on the TV viewer to get the feel of some of the routines because you have to continuously adjust your eyes to what the dancers are trying to convey in their routine. But all in all the competition is off chain! The dancers bring their hearts to the stage every week! And I love it!!!
... View Morei really love this show, but i am sick and tired of the camera moving so much. it really makes the whole viewing experience frustrating because when the cameras move around, zoom in and out, you miss the entire "crew" effect. I mean, the TV audience loses out on what the judges are seeing because some parts of choreography are cool and interesting when one individual is doing something amazing, and other parts are cool because the entire crew is in unison, however, when the camera moves around so fast, you miss this as a television viewer. It would be a much better home viewing experience if the camera remained at least with a forward look to the stage, and really avoid moving around wherever possible. Otherwise, the show is an amazing combination of different choreography and is really enjoyable. BUT, Does anyone know someone at MTV to get them to fix this??
... View MoreThis casting call premiere was excellent! If the whole series is half as good, this will be the new Dancing with the Stars. The judges are fair and direct, but respectful. The viewer is informed about the techniques involved in this art form. The host Mario Lopez is,as always, enjoyable and very comfortable in this arena. The "crews" competing are from a wide variety of looks and styles. In particular the mid-west representation of Indiana Rollerskating "Guys" and adorable Fem Five stand out from the more urban streetwise competition. Last, but not least, The MUSIC. Yes , music on MTV. My neighbors will definitely know when this show is on. Overall , I enjoyed it and look forward to "tuning" in every week.
