I have only seen the first five episodes. I don't think I will see any more. I like the action and acknowledge that they try to have strong female characters. But with the exception of Sharon Stone's character they seem to fail miserably at it.All other females is sexy and portrayed as strong, independent and having fought to survive earlier on in life. But they always have to be rescued by agent X at the end. Even the "evil" females is just misunderstood or have a bad past and agent X will save them also. At the same time most "evil" men in the series is just evil and do their thing because of greed or power.I want a series to pull me in. But the portrayal of females in this series is nigher believable or realistic. That way the series fail to make me believe and stay interested.

Before watching this show I read a few reviews from the bad column & a few from the good so I didn't come into it expecting very much.I can only assume that the people who gave this show a 10/10 rating are directly associated with the show in some way - or brain damaged.I even forced myself to watch more than one episode just to make sure that they didn't change the entire writing staff etc in the second to make it less laughable (in a bad way) but no.It's like they can only write in cliché - that's it. Nothing else. It's almost impossible NOT to know exactly what's going to happen at any given time so the actors have no chance (and still are worse than you would think). Just think cheap and nasty which is sad because I like a good FBI/CIA/secret agent show. The whole premise of the show is that agent X is a single person who can be sent on missions by the vice president when something bad happens and they need to act outside legal authority or purview. Basically they are saying that they do the stuff that normal agencies like the FBI CIA etc can't do because they would be hampered by acting within the law. That on it's own is laughable because it seems like half these agencies like the CIA & NSA already just do whatever the hell they want regardless of the law but in the second episode & he's chasing down terrorists trying to sell like 9 nukes??? Pretty sure that some agencies might get amongst the action just for the hell of it, as much as one guy with no support other than a couple of people in a basement in Washington whilst he's in the middle of Russia can get the job done against like 70 dudes with machine guns....I mean I get the whole suspend reality thing to differing degrees in some shows but this is just so stupid I sat there saying less savory versions of words like "crap", "rubbish", "what a load of old cobblers" pretty much the whole time.It was like Scorpion all over again.

There are some pros: 1. The opening and ending music is nice. Red X's on people's faces on historical photos is a nice touch too. 2. Whenever someone is shot, the blood splatter effect is the best I've seen. Hand on heart honest! It's realistic, yet not overly dramatic like those in the movie "300".Now comes SPOILERS! CAREFUL! But I would still not recommend this show to anyone. Because... Cons: 1. (S01E01) John shoots a dude in the left shoulder, and later fights him on the roof. The blood stain is now on the right, and as the dude swings a metal pipe, no bullet hole is visible, only a patch of blood. He also uses his arm as if he was never shot at all. Too fake, and this being the first fight scene that we see, is not very encouraging. 2. (S01E01) After John saves the girl, they encounter an AK47 in the construction site, with no recoil, never knew they made them that way.3. (S02E02) John chases a wolf with a sniper rifle. As he aims, the entire head is visible in the scope. But the wolf is less than 400 yards away! With that scope that close to target, I highly doubt that the wolf will be visible. One of it's nostrils would be magnified large enough to fill the entire scope. 4. (S02E02) Malik, when helping John escape, carries a grenade to the terrorists, and it explodes, killing himself too. A normal person would toss the grenade at the terrorists.Too many fallacies in just two episodes. I'm not saying this TV show will definitely fail. But, a lot more attention to detail is needed for survival. Calling for more proofreading before submitting the scene is not overly punctilious, it's what should be done.Well... Let's hope they improve, but clearly, not a lot of thought was put into the filming, YET. (Don't lo0se hope! I'm still hopeful!)

I love political thrillers and spy and superhero shows etc. The best however, are always in books and I am yet to see a series yet that compares to books like the Mitch Rapp series and here's why. They are always to tame, whether we are talking about Agent X or Person of Interest or Daredevil etc, they are all about shooting the bad guys in the knees. You know what Mitch Rapp does when confronted by an amoral killer or a terrorist? He shoots them right between the eyes so they can no longer hurt anyone else. Arrow started that way, in the first season he killed the evil doers, in the seasons since then he ties them up for the police to take them away to jail where they later escape to continue their evil ways, so tedious and boring. Agent X has started this way, he is supposedly the most highly trained agent on Earth and he misses baddies when he shoots at them and he goes out of his way to not kill them, this is unrealistic and would never happen in the real world. I've only seen the one episode though, hopefully it will get better.
