Obviously this brings deep memories from who remembers that time. It is entertaining, enjoyable and quite makes me remember a Portuguese "Blue Summer" with politics in between. And I think that is a must, to remove itself of being labeled as a simple soap TV show. Markl congrats you for the very good show, it is certainly very good. And also congrats to the RTP to have it stream available for free.

Given it's a low-budget portuguese TV show, I have to say I was mindblown by the outcome. This series is actually pretty good and captures every ounce of our ''portugueseness''. Not to mention it was remarkably thoughtout. Every detail, from music to school slang, contributes into building an accurate representation of the 80's. The characters are also quite peculiar and endearing (specially due to the work of a few actors - my favourite being Tiago's father), eventhough some actors lack in experience, and can sometimes make overdramatic representations. It is very rare to find a TV show with this level of quality in Portugal, and for that I thank the producers.

This show is great, given that it's a low budget portuguese tv show, the writing is very well done using the right terms for the time that was lived back then, it gives a great representation of Portugal in the 80's. Although the buildings and stuff obviously didn't stay the same, we can still catch that nostalgic feeling! The acting could be better though, there are 3 or 4 characters with great acting, but some of them come out too theatrical, and that means some cringy moments. Overall I loved the show, the soundtrack is amazing and the filming is good too.

This review is spoilers free, and based on the first season. Decided to do it because I loved this series and it still does not have one. Also, this is the first Portuguese TV show I've watched. A nice homage to the year I was born, 1986.The story focus on a group of high schoolers and their families through the first months of 1986 in Lisbon. It making a lot of references to history, politics, it's an election year, and pop culture, i.e. TV, music and cinema. It is very catchy, making you somewhat addicted to it, but not by using a lot of cliffhangers or mysteries, just by being truly interesting. The characters are the best part of this series. It is full of very well built characters. Most of them have a lot of charisma, by showing their own qualities and flaws. They are not painted good or evil. It's funny how you can love and hate some of them at the same time. And many of them evolve a lot in the course of this two-month story. I specially liked Eduardo and Patrícia. Most of the actors in the show are newcomers, but still the acting is very good. It feels a little off sometimes, but that's not common. The actors embody the characters very well, making all of them memorable. The show is great, but not perfect, and now I'm going to point some flaws I felt in it: The references sometimes are too expositive, I would prefer something more subtle. You know, it's nice to have that feeling of achievement when you notice a hidden reference to a show you love. Of course, there were a lot more references besides the expositive ones, so you can still have it. Some plot lines feel filler, but nothing that spoils the experience. Many times new characters appear on the story for 2 minutes and even have some meaningful dialogue, so you expect them to have some kind of importance to the story, but most of the times they are just passing by. That also feels filler for me, but it's ok. You never know if they might return in another season.Bottom line: This is a comedy slice-of-life show. A simple, linear adventure of these young and adult people lives. And usually very heartwarming. Also, it's very different from the "puzzle-solving" TV shows that are mainstream today. I highly recommend it.
