Æon Flux Trailers

Æon Flux is a mysterious and amoral secret agent from the country of Monica. Her motives or background are left unexplained, as are those of her antagonist/love, Trevor Goodchild. On her missions, she deals swift, bloody "justice" to all that oppose her. The second season episodes of this series were unique in that Aeon died at the end of every single episode.

Seriously, I challenge the writer to come up with a plot that goes from point A to point B without making pretentious pseudo-philosophical nonsense or portraying a cartoon woman's feet in a fetishistic manner. He can't seem to do it. In a world with anatomically challenged mutant aliens that somehow manage to become humanity's next great leap in evolution, I wouldn't think it's all that difficult. In all earnestness, the aliens turning into humanity's next stage of evolution doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Humanity has had a torso for the whole of it's myriad of forms, from Chimp to Homo Erectus, it's torsos for all. I don't see how we can evolve without them. Also the episode where Aeon Flux kept on going back to the sticky table with the grey mystery ooze made no sense. How did that kid know who that baby mutated into? I couldn't identify my own kid in a photo line up up you showed me several other pictures of babies, so how does a prepubescent kid know just by a single glance? Another example, the episode where Aeon seduces an amputee for no apparent reason. Why does this amputee trust this woman? Wasn't he looking for someone else? Did he just see Aeon Flux and just decide "Oh well, good enough. Never mind the fact that my lover is trapped in prison and probably dead, I better help this stranger escape from a high security facility," Yet another of my complaints, don't worry, I'm not just gonna harp on the myriad of plot holes, is the horrendous art. The art looks like something I would have fever dreamed and the malformed, hideous, and uncanny valley residing characters emote and move roughly on the same level as a Chucky Cheese animatronics. The main complaint I have is that it talks a big, smart game, yet has all the wit and subtlety of a shovel to the knees. Simply put, if you remove the pseudo philosophy, the foot obsession, and the skimpy outfits that Aeon wears (by the way, the way she is drawn makes me want to swear off women altogether) you are left with an unintelligible and incomprehensible mess. I've had hallucinogenic benders that have made better sense.Don't watch Aeon Flux, unless you want to make fun of it mercilessly or you like reading the Marquis De Sade way too much.

Aeon Flux was/is one groundbreaking show that crushed every cliché inside and outside the genre. It is surrealistic, very abstract, and to tell the truth not something for everyone to enjoy. But if you are fan of innovative animation or Japanese anime then you will most likely love this as much as I do (if you can at least enjoy Peter Chung's style). The short-episodes also made a huge impression on me. Without dialog the episodes still contained a very solid story (if you can manage to get it at least, which can even take more then one view), and a very sci-fi and abstract approach. Of course, if you don't want to dissect the storyline you could always enjoy the truly fine action-scenes Aeon Flux is full of! Some episodes can even get slightly 'trippy', but it never gets too much to the point that you feel you'r watching random scenes or something.I really hope that Peter Chung makes a return with this show, since the name 'Aeon Flux' still needs to be cleansed because of that awful self-titled movie. Highly recommended for fans of avantgarde animation!

I can't write too much about this show. It's not normal, but something suggestive of an acid trip. The overall quality of the show is bad, but I think that's the idea. Also, keep in mind I am talking about the shorts. I do not know about the full-length show.Every episode features the heroine, Aeon Flux, a physically fit assassin. She has an objective every episode. Do to the lack of dialog, it's difficult to see what the objective is. But usually involves killing someone or destroying property. By property, I mean destroying a plane or a train. I guess essentially, Aeon is a terrorist.I think the idea is there is a huge corporation that owns the world, a dictatorship if you will. Aeon is the underdog, the rebel, and with her disposable sidekicks she gets information or kills somebody. In this world, they have to check every nook and cranny on the body. That means it could be hidden in a fake tooth, a nipple, you get the idea. This can get sensual. Except they're cartoons. I bet the movie is better for apparent reasons. The coolest part of the show is at the end of every episode, Aeon dies for her cause, only to be reborn again. That sounds cool on the outside, but I think the real uniqueness lies deeper. I think Peter Chung created this concept saying that freedom is not destroyable. Aeon Flux just symbolizes justice. But despite this philosophical point of view, the cartoon is still cool because, well, it's got some cool action scenes.Overall, I give this show a C+.

Aeon Flux started as video shorts on Liquid Television. The DVD has 4 full length episodes, plus the original shorts. Each is a short story about our super sexy secret agent, and her trials and tribulations. Fun to watch, but I don't recommend purchasing. You can only watch Aeon Flux so many times before you're bored with it, as with most Mtv garbage. The anime was amazing, and the stories were clever. Aeon flux is a good 1 night rental.
