I loved "Wrong Turn 4" but wasn't big on the rest of them. I enjoy over the top slasher films with a touch of Roger Corman. This one opens Corman style with a nude love scene. The film takes place in modern times some 30 years later after...? I'm not sure what, but now Maynard Odetts (Doug Bradley- "Hellraiser" Pinhead) has been there for 30 years but absent from the other films as a killer. I decided not to think too hard on this one and just enjoy the film. There must be more than one branch of cannibal killers in the area. The town of Fairlake, WV is having a 10 year annual festival celebrating the Hillbilly cannibal slasher...Seriously?People are in costume which allows our recluse gruesome threesome to enter town with knowledge of cell phone towers, phone lines, and electricity. The film gives literal meaning to "Give me a hand" and "Lend me your ears." The killings/torture was done in different and entertaining ways bordering on Troma style using real pig entrails. Clearly this film is not for everyone. But for those who like an 80's Troma style slasher film, you might want to check this one out.Parental Guide: F-bomb, sex, nudity (Amy Lennox, corpse nudity, Bulgarian film actress Borisa Tutundjieva)

Judging from my other reviews, you would not think that horror films would be my thing, especially very gory ones. Actually aim to have a diverse taste in film, so seeing films from all decades and genres with no bias intended. Plus have seen my fair share of horror franchises where at least one film has been good.Personally quite enjoyed the first two 'Wrong Turn' films, they weren't perfect or great but had a lot to recommend. Hated 'Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead', with the exceptions of two small things. Hated even more 'Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings', a prequel detailing the hillbillies' origins that just came over as completely pointless with nothing interesting to say and was just badly executed as a film. The same goes for 'Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines'. It's like the fourth film, it makes exactly the same flaws as the third film, amplifies them and makes more on the way while not having either thing that stopped that film from being worse.Camilla Arfwedson is the sole reason 'Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines' gets any stars at all, she is the only actor who tries to give a halfway OK performance and the only asset where any effort is evident. Everything else however is done so amateurishly that all her valiant efforts seem a waste. The rest of the acting is a disgrace, there was a sense that nobody was even trying and it was painful to watch. The only things the cast succeed in doing is accentuating that their very sketchily developed characters are either bland, obnoxious or both and impossible to care for. Especially when their behaviour throughout is just so stupid and illogical. The script continues to be cheesy, awkward and cliché-ridden.Story is both derivative and takes simplicity to extremes, and ruins it further by failing to bring any kind of atmosphere to any of the components, just a lot of cheesy death scenes with lots of gratuitous gore that makes anything meant to resemble tension or terror feel nauseating or unintentionally funny. There is none of what made the first two films work, everything is just too cheap, too safe, too predictable and too clean. It had a decent premise to work from, but starts dull, un-scary and dumb and stays like that all the way instead of doing the thankful 180 that the second film did.Visually, there is nothing slick, professional, inventive or atmospheric here, slipshod is a better word for it. Particularly bad in this regard is the visual effects, the only thing that is scary about them is how risible and truly cheap they are. The direction has no personality or professionalism of any kind, there isn't a sense of understanding the genre or how to overcome a less than lavish budget. In conclusion, falls completely flat in nearly every way possible with the sole halfway OK asset outdone by the rest of the film being an intelligence-insulting mess. 1/10 Bethany Cox

Story: We start by following our group of sexed up, drugged up and alcohol fuelled college students as they are preparing for Mountain Man Festival, a big festival set in and around the mountains of West Virginia. While being reckless the friends run into a mysterious man, wrecking their car and leading to them all getting arrested. Now the cannibals want to crash the festival and free there family member from jail, but along the way the leave a body count. Trying to show that the cannibals have a mentor who bought them into the Virginia area is a plus, but to be honest that is the only highlight. The film has gone into the flat out torture porn mode with the cannibals playing games with their victims by trying to find the most outrageous ways to kill them. The characters seem to make decisions that are beyond terrible including the Sheriff saying stay together and the very next comment she goes outside on her own. This is just poor storytelling, how will the cannibals eat the victims if they destroy them so much? In the end this continues the trend of the films declining as they continue to lose what made them interesting. (3/10)Actor ReviewDoug Bradley: Maynard looking after the cannibals now, he is family to them but he normal look helps him blend into the crowd, he is trying to teach them how to cope with their change in environment. He gets locked up and promises everyone will die if he isn't released. Doug makes a good villain to add to series and is menacing throughout. (7/10)Camilla Arfwedson: Sheriff Angela only Sheriff in the local town who isn't looking forward to the festival because it leaves them dealing with all the drunks. She never manages to follow her instructions making her a terrible leader. Camilla never convinces as a cop and her character is horribly written. (3/10)Simon Ginty: Billy driver of the car that wrecks because he is too busy being reckless with his friends, though he does take complete responsibility for the drugs. Simon gives an inconstant performance as the stupid college kid. (3/10)Support Cast: The cannibals are the same as always solid enough, but the supporting friends all make poor choices and become disposable.Director Review: Declan O'Brien – Thankfully this was his last outing on this film so hopefully now we can give it back to someone who can save it. (3/10)Horror: Torture porn now, what happened? (3/10) Settings: They couldn't even create the isolation idea, that bit is easy. (3/10) Special Effects: Solid effects with some of the kills but wrong genre really. (7/10) Suggestion: No, just no. (Leave it in the Box Set) Best Part: Doug Bradley is actually an interesting addition to the series. Worst Part: Becoming torture porn. Believability: No (0/10) Chances of Tears: No (0/10) Chances of Sequel: One more sequel to come Post Credits Scene: NoOscar Chances: No Runtime: 1 Hour 27 Minutes Tagline: Fear will consume youOverall: Prison Break, Cannibal StyleCheck out more reviews on http://moviesreview101.com/

One of the best movie of the amazing series. A true masterpiece that everyone needs to see. All these haters just don't understand the genius. This movie should be seen by all who love great film. The director clearly has created the epitome of modern day horror. He Makes Alfred Hitchcock look like Tommy Wiseau. I have honestly watched this film 36 times, and never has it lost its luster. In the words of the great Cory Baxter " Wrong turn 4 is a party every week baby!" "Wrong turn" is the greatest horror franchise much better then "Halloween" or the boring "Nightmare on Elm street" movies. Wrong turn 4 will out like us all.watch this movie ! Jacob Jackson
