This documentary offers one of the only non-scripted glimpses of the young Beatles during one of their first visits to America. Filmed with the goal of capturing the Beatles "as they were" in the midst of media and fan mayhem, the Maysles brothers remind us that these Fab Four started out small, carefree and almost too-human.I had the rare opportunity to see this film during a lecture by Albert Maysles. Since the film was made just before the release of "Hard Days Night," that portrayal of the fictional Beatles sadly overwhelmed the distribution of this documentary. If your local library, film school or video store has a copy of this, grab it with haste.
