And a titch or two above half-good. This tale of a spooky house harboring terrifying premonitions may not be anything all that new, but it's relatively well acted and the California wine vineyard aesthetic is competently captured. Furthermore, it bears mention that lead Isla Fisher rocks a revealing '70's retro look in a couple scenes here with stunning savoir-faire.Strut on, girl.

After a pregnant woman moves in her new house with her loving husband, she starts seeing strange visions. The movie starts up interesting, the character themselves are pretty well done. Though I was more interested by some side characters then our main protagonist. That's where the movie loses me a bit, though the actors do a great job, they don't have a lot to work with, some simple things are thrown in there to squish everything up, so we can care for these people. But at the end it just doesn't work very well. The movie tries to do something clever, though I didn't see the ending coming, it might be just because it was a little boring and hard to pay attention to. I can see a number of times the director tried to build atmosphere and tension, but it quickly falls apart by the numerous jump-scares it has littered about. There was so many times in the movie where I jumped just because of a loud noise and that is a problem. Some things are not explained in the ending which I can't get into without spoiling so I won't talk about it, but beside that we also have a very, very uninteresting ending of all. I wasn't afraid for the woman or her husband, I was more interested about the past it sets up with this house but never delivers. Sound: Nothing special for a horror movie Directing: It has some good shots, though it doesn't play with our mind quite as well as I hoped it would because of these visions. Story: The story is lackluster, had potential, but ultimately failed.Overall this is an average movie at best: 5/10

OK this was not a good horror film. It lacked so much in the script that it gave up at the end. The acting was decent the story was not. Why did they go different styles because in the end you could not figure out what they wanted as a film. There were a few good moments but I was bored after 30 minutes It tried on a few levels but felt like it was a bunch of students trying to make a decent horror flick. Some nice ideas that were not used the best way.Had promise and that's where it ends.Watch on Netflix at your own discretion.

Like probably every other person who watched this movie, I did so due to the strong cast it boasted. If this movie consisted of a list of unknowns, I very much doubt many people would even give it a chance at all.I've always been a big fan of Isla Fishers, but sadly this movie shows she has definite limitations. Horror/thriller movies are just not for her. She comes across completely false in her role, which should have had multiple layers and had the possibility of showcasing her acting talent. Instead it illustrated her discomfort within the world of serious acting. In chick-flicks and nice romantic comedies, Isla is perfect, but when a role calls for something a bit more than 1 dimensional, she struggles and becomes insanely irritating. Jim Parsons seems unable to rid himself of the shackles that is Sheldon Cooper. Will he ever be rid of that role? This movie contains pretty much every stereotype that a film fan could expect. Even if you have never watched this movie before, you will know exactly where it's going. I have to say I rate this one as quite poor. It didn't scare me, make me jump, surprise me or immerse me. I was actually looking forward to the ending, which is never a good sign.I would advise to avoid.
