The reviews rated this highly so I watched this but it was one of the most disappointing "thrillers". Reviewers seem to be ga ga about Kamala Hasan and yes, the movie is different in its style. The narration is repeatedly interrupted by flashbacks that hurt the pace of the story. The first half is particularly slow and doesn't really build towards anything. It is true that unlike the usual Hindi movie, there are no perfect characters here but the movie falls mostly flat as the plot is revealed and a transition is made from mystery to thriller/action. Songs mostly distract without even the standard bollywood masala value. Baby and Phantom did a far better job and even less perfect thrillers like Holiday and December 16 do a better job of keeping you riveted.

VIshwaroopam is one the best movies of 2013 and of all time. The plot of this movie is very interesting with twists and turns and a lot of flashbacks. Without a sequel, this movie wouldn't have had the critical acclaim it has received so far. The acting of the lead roles were pretty impressive. the music was pretty good but not up to expectations. The only reason,in my opinion, this movie was successful is the intensity of the plot and the successful effect of "thrill". WIthout these very important elements, this movie would have been another on of those cheesy movies that were flops i.e. Sura. There still were very minor flaws in the otherwise perfect movie. First, the flashbacks got a little bit confusing towards the end of the story. Second, if movie was a little bit shorter, it might have made a bigger impact. Finally, the actors could have stepped up their performance a tiny bit more.

Vishwaroop (Hindi Version) was spectacular , spellbinding and engrossing.Vishwanathan is a Kathak dance teacher leading a normal happy married life. However , his life turns topsy-turvy when he and wife are captured by Muslim terrorist leader Omar.Directed , acted and produced by himself , Kamal Hassan goes one step further to create a admirable character of Vishwaroop. Forget about the controversies surrounding the film as it had no objectionable scenes which portrays Muslim community in bad light, the movie was made with sheer effort and hard work and it really pays off. Right from the beginning, the films boast some great performances , good-old action scenes with stunning visuals and powerful storyline. The movie dips little bit in the end but picks up and delivers properly. Vishwaroop is an interesting thriller which has some great action sequences and cinematography of international standard. Hats off to Kamal Hassan for treating us with his ambitious project. Very good 4/5

after so much hype.. i decided to watch this movie.. i am not a fan of kamal hasan nor i hate him.. but this movie didn't help me change my views on him. movie is sooo boring.. acting is below average from all the actors.. and dialogues of his wife is damn irritating.. at one point you really wants someone to shut her up.. and i didn't understand the starting of the movie.. what she was doing in therapist office.. and where did that conversation go.. i really wanted the movie to end.. here its having 9.4 ratings.. c'mon you guys can't be serious.. please don't go for this movie even if you are action lover or have any sort of taste.. and i wonder why its 2nd part is in making.. God bless us.
