I pity people calling kamal hassan 'ulaganaayakan' maybe for them ulagam is tollywood ! comeon guys..this movie is a thriller without thrill..come out of your ulagam and just watch some high class thrillers like The Usual Suspects or even The Silence of the Lambs.technically good but style over substance kamal doesn't look like a police officer, there is no thrill whatsoever dragging and boring till end you might be saving 3 valuable hrs of your life if u skip watching this movie.kamal at his best is the best in tollywood
... View MoreI saw this movie just yesterday on DVD. The DVD was awesome. Crystal clear and sharp hence the photography really appealed.Firstly, I am not a Tamilian. Just a movie buff. See movies of all languages. Now the movie.... It is about a "hunting game" between the cop and killers. The first half of the movie was amazing. Fast pace, razor sharp editing, no-nonsense investigation. It was really engaging. We were glued to our couch. Then came the second half where the pace began to slow down. Sluggish. I think the director should have stuck to the cop and killer chase rather than a "big" sub-plot of a love story. Also the killer/s were out-right gory but too loud. I must the second half spoiled the whole fun.Kamal Hassan as usual was good. He carried himself well though he has put on some weight. All in all, a good thriller but could have been better.
... View MoreWell as gautam (director) has very shrewdly put it at the beginning of the movie, this movie is indeed an another episode in a cop's life.......nothing new, nothing great you'll find in this movie, but just the way in which the whole plot unfolds is captivating. Typical Indian title song which i should say is a classy one. And music is not as great as the one Harris could manage in Kakka Kaakha........but all said, the music blends well with the movie and compliments it to a nicety....kamal is classy as usual and carries on with such ease, u hardly realize that he is acting in this movie....the second hour of the movie gives you a dragging feeling, and its just not a feeling, but indeed it does drag a bit and then speeds up again at the climax......some crisp editing and camera covers up some minor blips in the screenplay...........but to be very honest, i expected something more and better than what gautam delivered in the name of Vettaiyadu Velaiyadu .but i know i am asking for too much, but the expectation was set by Kaakha kaakha...so VV could have been a lot better, but not a bad movie as what it is now.....6/10 and just in case you are a kamal fan like me then its 9/10 :-)....
... View MoreThe Movie was good overall with all chipping in well...but This film had very little scope for a bigger star like Kamal...Anyone could have donned this role...But still worth Watching !!!...Addede to that Jyothika's performance was very good matching up to expectations... Music overall was good but Harris Jeyaraj could have concentrated on the BGM a little bit more.....Gautam Has given some sort of a sequel to his previous movie (kakka kakka) and has also used some character names from that movie.... and has succeeded in it almost..but still the first one was gud..I recommend this movie...You will surely like it....
