Urban horror is usually not good. Sure, "Tales From the Hood" is an underrated gem, as are "Def By Temptation", "Blacula", and "Ganja and Hess". Hell, at least "Snoop Dogg's Hood of Horror" is somewhat watchable. However, most horror movies aimed at black audiences are bad, and it's a shame.Anyways, you may have seen this one on Video Shelves a while back. Hell, you probably saw it recently on those shelves. Anyways, this is one of several bad DTV Exploitation movies featuring Ice-T that was directed by Albert Pyun. Basically, an insane preacher (Snoop Dogg) seeks revenge against Fat Joe and Big Pun (who set new low standards when it comes to horrible acting) and Ice-T. The movie itself may be the "Plan 9 From Outerspace" of Urban Horror movies, with more inconsistencies than a recount in an election, and Big Pun-oh, Big Pun. His character wears a Big Pun T-Shirt, mumbles as if he's about to have an asthma attack, and makes the same facial expressions throughout.See this for a great example of unintentional comedy. And for Pun's performance for the ages.

I can't believe that this movie is not on the bottom 100. The plot of this movie is.... well... uhhh.... the plot of this movie is.... gee, I can't even tell you, because after watching it once, and skimming through it a second time just to see if I missed something, I still have no clue what the plot is. I guess a preacher (Snoop Dogg) has his family killed and wants to get revenge. Then again, I could be wrong.I rented this movie after I read the back and thought hmmmm, this can't be all that bad. The movie was so poorly made. The lighting was awful, the acting was even worse, the lines sounded like they were being read, and the action scenes were completely fake and lame. It looked like a low-budget college student movie/long music video. The only thing that sort of made it amusing was Big Pun and Fat Joe's miserable excuse for acting. But even that didn't put this in the "so bad its funny" category. I even dozed off a little bit halfway into it, and had to rewind. It was pure torture sitting through this. Take my advice, and avoid this at all costs! Do not watch this, and most importantly, do not spend money to watch this!

this was thrown together for apparently "no" budget, really..shot on digital video.. Snoop Dogg doesn't even "act" here; the director excerpts video footage from interviews and stage performances mostly (with a voice-over implying that his character is a drug dealer turned music producer); then there is a very brief staged scene with Snoop running around shooting guns.. he doesn't even get to have a "death" scene.. instead, a sniper's sight graphic appears on the screen, zeroes in on Snoop, and then "Bang", all goes red.. Ice T co-produced this... he has a limited role as a hit-man who takes out crooks for his own benefit.. I guess it does well enough at video stores to make a profit.. but it's just blah overall..
