The title of this review says it all. But, it's better than The Room, Fateful Findings and Cool as Ice combined. I highly recommend getting your local library to buy it, as I did. I'm sure they were thrilled to put in the order :-)Enjoy.

I stumbled onto this movie when watching reviews for "The Room". Some people were saying that The Room was not the worst movie ever made, and that it was Troll 2. Well I can say that even this movie, is still not the worst movie ever made. This is a true popcorn film. This is a movie that you invite your friends and family over to force them to watch it, until they die laughing. Bad acting , bad story and even bad edits can not stop this movie from being truly entertaining. That is what movies are for, to entertain. I can definitely recommend watching this film when you are bored or just doing some house cleaning (what I was doing at the time).

A hideous child who likes to converse with the ghost of his dead grandfather and his hopelessly dumb family go over the meadow and through the woods to the off-putting and peculiar rural town of Nilbog to swap houses with a family they've never met and all the oddball townsfolk are actually goblins in disguise who repeatedly try to get them to eat disgusting green glop that will transform them into vegetables so that they can be eaten! Troll 2!!! So this movie has a pretty impressive 'cult' fanbase as one of the best bad movies ever made, and while there are bad films I like better, I think this beauty more than lives up to its reputation with every frame. I enjoy it and find it good but not on the level of it being any kind of good motion picture, I just love how much it makes me laugh, because it's not just awful, it's hysterically awful! There's no question that it is indeed a terrible film in every aspect, the effects, the music, the camerawork and most of all the acting, but it's so entertaining because of that, because of how much of a colossal failure it is at a serious attempt at cinema and to watch this movie is to enter a bizarre fantasy land that feels like it can go off in any random direction at any given moment, but it can be such a fun blast if you're in just the right frame of mind for it, whether that may require you to drink or smoke a little something first who can say! The original Troll I have a special place for and enjoy on a genuine level, like a movie. It's witty, it's goofy, it's fun and it's even a little creepy, so why did this 'movie' have to associate itself instead of sticking to its guns and daring to be its own thing? Obviously because somebody took one look at what an astonishing sh*theap it was and realised that it would never attract any attention or stand on its own, and so they decided to just leach off the good name of a far better horror picture! It's so weirdly structured and so much stuff in it doesn't even remotely make sense, like how the grandpa can randomly become corporeal enough to hand out Molotov cocktails to his grandson or use the Force to battle sinister goblin reverends, or of course stop time itself so that ugly children may p*ss on hospitality! The dialogue is so stilted and unnatural sounding, like it's bad rehearsals for a community stage play, with the worst offender for me being the freakshow of a mother who always looks so astonished and strange, like a deer caught in the headlights. She really looked out of her mind, you can see the insanity in that woman's eyes, she clearly was not quite all there! I did like the rather strapping father, he was at least a little gung-ho about his silly thankless little role, and speaking of enthusiastic, I love Deborah Reed as the goblin queen witchy-woman, because she seemed like the only cast member to be fully aware of what kind of film she was acting in and just went completely nuts with it, her manic expressions and thunderous theatricality are a real highlight and have to be seen to be believed! The director was a deluded old stubborn fool for not acknowledging and embracing his movie's legendary rottenness! So ridiculous but so funny, if you don't get the so-bad-it's-good thing than you'll definitely just hate it, and you'd be in your right to, but just roll with it and try to have fun and enjoy the offbeat freaky ride, and do remember to eat ya veggies!
