But, unbeknownst to her, Kassie’s plans go awry because of a last-minute switch that isn’t discovered until seven years later… when Wally gets acquainted with Kassie’s cute, though slightly neurotic, son.

Short and Simple Review by WubsTheFadgerIf not for Bateman and supporting actors Jeff Goldblum and Juliette Lewis, THE SWITCH would have been The One to Skip. Not because it's lousy, which it isn't, or because it's boring, which it's not. In fact, the premise has loads of potential, given how many women these days are opting to go parenthood alone. The problem with The Switch is that it's uninspired. Without Bateman to elevate many moments from corny to amusing, it would be formulaic at best and insufferable at worst.Luckily for the audience, he's there with his natural delivery and impeccable timing, making most of the set-ups -- even the absurd ones -- believable. And humorous. When he decides to make that pivotal switch, we buy it. As for Aniston -- who is, after all, the film's star -- it has long been established that she's charming and funny. And she still is. But the charm is wearing thin, and the funny feels phoned in. We've seen her as this character many times now, ostensibly independent but needing rescuing, needing someone to love her to be once again complete.Pros: Interesting story, Jason Bateman's performance, and some good humorCons: Some weak story moments, some corny heartfelt scenes, and some uninspired acting from Aniston

Last night i watched this movie on Netflix. I don't mind an occasional romantic comedy to get some cheap laughs. I saw one with Jennifer Aniston from the 2000s, I figured why not, at least I can look at Jennifer Aniston's middle aged fine wine looking ass for an hour 45. So this movie was horrendous. The lead across from Jennifer Anniston (who will be abbreviated as Ja) was some guy who look liked a loser version of Hugh Grant without the cool British accent. We will call him Hughser, GET IT LIKE LOSER, for now. Hughser was Ja's friend and Ja wanted to get pregnant. I guess being a single mom is cool. Ja wanted to pick a donor and then squirt it in her cooch with a turkey baster. Ja picked this handsome nice guy (no romo) but hughser didn't like it because he was secretly in love with Ja. At the insemination party (yes this happened) complete with litlte sperm decorations hughser got drunk and went to the bathroom. He found the guy's nut in a cup and he started playing with it and accidentally spilled it in the sink. In a drunk panic, hughser whips that hog out and leaves his own "donation" in a cup. Thankfully they didn't show the hughser chokin the lizard, I woulda thrown up. Ja turkey bastes his gravy into that cooter and moves away. 7 years later, SHE MOVESBACK! and the kid is with her. The kid is such a damn loser that Ja cant relate to it. Hughser is stil single (shockingly). Hughser loves the kid and they relate to each other because they are both friggin losers. The handsome nice guy comes in for the kill and tries to marry Ja. At the proposal, Hughster admits to loving Ja and that he father Ja's weirdo kid, and Ja says GTFO YOU LOSER. The loser kid misses the loser dad and Ja ends up going back to hughser and they get married.

I was not expecting to like this show very much, but it literally blew me away. This child actor who plays Sebastian is phenomenal, and absolutely adorable. At his age, his acting skills just blew me away. Jennifer Aniston plays her usual quirky self, but she was really great, and very classy. Jason Bateman was fantastic, and I loved everything about his character. This movie made me laugh and cry. The bond between Bateman and Sebastian was beautiful. Every actor in this movie was great, including Juliette Lewis and Jeff Goldblum, who co-star. Trust me, you will enjoy this movie, even if you don't normally watch these types of movies.

Drinking can lead to many unfortunate things; one of the worse things is an accidental pregnancy, or worse a switched pregnancy. Jennifer Aniston stars along side Jason Bateman in what I like to call a dramady, or as most may know a drama comedy in The Switch. The movie, which was filmed back in 2010, takes place in current day New York City. It follows Wally (Bateman) in his unlucky love encounters with long time best friend Kassie (Aniston). I hope to enlighten you with my take and opinion on the movie, which may contain some spoilers for those who have not seen The Switch before. The first part of the movie follows Wally, who has been stuck in the friend zone with Kassie for years. The movie first takes a turn and becomes mildly interesting when she tells Wally she wants a surrogate baby. In my opinion, the movie starts out with nothing unusual. It has no real flare and feels like just another typical love story. Kassie, who has to pick the perfect sperm donor, has a party to welcome in the donor and his gift to her and Wally gets drunk at the party after meeting the handsome donor out of jealousy. The movie drags on a bit while Aniston's character is left out of the picture for a short period when she decides to move back home. Bateman's character is followed and is seen heartbroken over his love. His love is shown through mediocre acting, although I believe he is one of the better actors in Hollywood. After Wally is seen wallowing for much too long, he finds out Kassie is moving back to New York City with her son who is now 7 years old. Some how seven years has supposedly gone by in the movie since Aniston's character had moved away and yet no one and nothing has seemed to change; everything was the exact same except for Kassie's son was now in the picture. As Kassie and Wally get reacquainted, the sperm donor, Roland, comes back in as a recent divorcée and a possible love interest with Kassie. Roland, who is played by Patrick Wilson, has a very cold and unwelcoming side to him despite the fact he tries to be the cool, and fun father to Kassie's son. As the movie proceeds, the audience are taken on a much more interesting ride. We see Wally become very close with Kassie's son and develop a father son like relationship. As an audience, we noticed the similarities between both Wally and Kassie's son, something Wally notices too. The movie finally escalates when he ruins Kassie's engagement to Roland and admits his love for her and that her son is in fact his son too. With that being the most exciting part of the movie the rest can be summed up pretty easily. It is how every other love story ends, with a happy ending that comes at no surprise and while it is satisfying to finally see is nothing new. I found the overall movie to be a cute watch if you are in the mood for something predictable and easy to follow. The Switch was and is nothing that I would go out of my way to watch on a Friday night unless I was in bed with ice cream, mourning over a recent break up and needed to see a love story with a happy ending. The direction and camera work is nothing outstanding and at times it is even considerably bad. Some scenes like when Wally is at his bosses apartment questioning whether Sebastian is actually his son too, the camera seems to be shaky and distracts from the importance of it. This is apparent in more scenes than just this. What the movie lacks in is the richness of the characters and the character development, but is slightly made up for by the fact the two main actors are always fun to watch. The characters are shorted due to very average guiding on the directors part. Aniston and Bateman are both good actors that are not given the full opportunity to prove it in this very typical, cliché movie. Overall, I felt the movie was only something I could watch on rare occasions and would not recommend it to anyone else that was in the mood for a good movie or even a slightly interesting movie.
