The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption Trailers

Since his triumphant rise to power in the original blockbuster "The Scorpion King", Mathayus' kingdom has fallen and he's lost his queen to plague. Now an assassin for hire, he must defend a kingdom from an evil tyrant and his ghost warriors for the chance to regain the power and glory he once knew. Starring Ron Perlman ("Hellboy") and Billy Zane ("Titanic"), and featuring 6-time WWE champion Dave Bautista and UFC star Kimbo Slice, "The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption" takes "The Mummy" phenomenon to an all-new level of epic action and non-stop adventure.

Exotic looking Victor Webster has assumed the title role taking over in a mostly deadpan fashion. The Akkadian king has fallen from grace and is now on a quest from King Horus (Ron Perlman in a minor role) to go after his rival brother Talus (Billy Zane). Talus is on the march against Horus' ally in the eastern kingdom (India) in order to obtain the "Book of the Dead."Webster is forced to work with the oafish Olaf (Bostin Christopher) from northern Germania. He has a wife Olga and 17 daughters. There are many stereotypes and if I started in on how this film is an anachronistic and historical nightmare, I would be writing a tome after the first 10 minutes. The movie takes on the aspect of a "B" comedy by adapting modern sayings to its age. For instance, a prisoner gets his ear ripped off by Talus who then holds the ear to his mouth and says, "Might you hear me now?"The movie is dotted with this type of humor.Dave Bautista plays Argomael the head of the Indian group. They also speak English but with an accent unlike the Akkadians, Egyptians (?), and the frequently belching Olaf. There is a fourth party in this...a person named "Cobra." Krystal Vee, a trained Thai kick boxer, plays the princess who must be rescued. Lex de Groot, who plays a messenger, is also listed as Billy Zane's stunt double, although I couldn't tell when he needed one. There is a quest within a quest, an oriental harem, a blond Japanese warrior, and ninja style warriors complete with cg ninja action. Billy Zane was excellent as the bad guy. The movie works when it is a "B" comedy. The serious scenes highlight the bad script and acting. Some of the fight scenes had me scratching my head such as when fighters "ride" elephant tusks to propel them 2-3 feet in the air across the span of 5 feet. They had to slow-mo the scene to make it look effective. It might have been better deleted. The movie was intended for a younger audience. If you keep your expectations low, view the movie within its context, and simply want an enjoyable film without it being an epic or requiring a lot of thinking, then this would be a worthwhile teen rental. No f-bombs, sex, or nudity. Use of "P" word. Urination. Krystal Vee showing off leg and midriff. Good movie for Billy Zane fans.

Well, what a rotten way to end Sequel Month with the umpteenth bad sequel. It's again, a shame because "For A Few Dollars More" was so good. This movie features Mathayus teaming up with this obnoxious guy named Olaf to save a kingdom. The villains are led by a guy named Cobra. That reminds me that I would much rather be watching "G. I. Joe". This movie is mostly just fight scene after fight scene. There's some talk and then more fight scenes. Movies like "Avengers: Infinity War" are so much better with how creative the non stop action is. Everyone just has unique costumes and designs and we've spent so much time building up the characterizations. I barely even remember the second movie at all, so maybe it's my fault for not paying attention. Hey, it's June. You know what that means, Comedy Month! *1/2

This was a fun movie to watch on an afternoon where you're not doing a lot anyway. This stands up well to any of the Scorpion King movies and Krystal Vee, I feel, is one of the standouts of the cast. She does a good job acting and lets face it-she is incredibly easy to watch. The people trashing this movie are just taking themselves too seriously regarding a movie that wasn't ever meant to cause you to pause and ponder the meaning of life. If you don't regard yourself as a movie snob or a professional movie critic this movie is a lot of fun to watch. It will never be in the top 100 movies of all time but it you're interested in the Scorpion King movies this one is as good or better than any of the others. Take it for what it's worth.

This is a great movie if you want a good laugh. I cannot even say what the movie was about since there is no plot- just endless bad one liners and ridiculous fight scenes between roman soldiers an ninjas and barbarians and ghost warriors and elephants and some chick whose clothes reveal more skin as the movie drags on. I love conan movies and other mindless movies like that, but this was so painfully stupid i wished i could hold my breath and pass out. At times i don't think the actors even know who they are supposed to be fighting. I paid one buck for this movie at redbox and feel totally ripped off...where do the chariot races fit in??? Was this movie really under 2 hours???? It felt like 50 hours...
