The Last Days on Mars Trailers

On the last day of the first manned mission to Mars, a crew member of Tantalus Base believes he has made an astounding discovery – fossilized evidence of bacterial life. Unwilling to let the relief crew claim all the glory, he disobeys orders to pack up and goes out on an unauthorized expedition to collect further samples. But a routine excavation turns to disaster when the porous ground collapses and he falls into a deep crevice. His devastated colleagues attempt to recover his body. However, when another vanishes, they start to suspect that the life-form they have discovered is not without danger.

The above description just about covers it,though it's nicely shot, and the cast includes Liev Schreiber, Romola Garai and Olivia Williams, it's a nothing special tale where an alien and or infection takes the crew down one by one, lotsa running down corridors and opening and closing air locked doors, you know the drill!

Fantastic visuals matched with excellent pacing, great acting and realistic dialogue, accompanied with masterful direction. Only problem is, the film has a bit of an absurd storyline...which may be a reason why you don't want to see this. Believe me, when you watch this, that absurd storyline does not seem as absurd when you view this. If you liked Gravity, you will absolutely love this film! The visuals in this film are absolutely stunning, and instead of dumb, quick, jumpy shots like in a lot of bad films, this film takes its time with it's shots, which is exactly what I like to see in film. This is not just another entertaining B-movie, despite the silly plot, but it's not as bad as a blockbuster, either. It's a film, admittedly with a bad storyline, with some of the greatest direction I've ever seen in a space movie. If you don't know the plot, don't search it up to see what it is, or it'll spoil the film for you. Instead, watch the film with zero expectations, preferably in a cinema, and prepare to be enthralled.

I'm not going to lie to you about the script, it's sh*t and painfully unimaginative and the rating reflects that. But as a cinematic experience this film nicely stands out from a lot of the recent dregs that I've seen. With this film it's not just the sets or the editing or the set pieces, but the way everything is flawlessly put together, makes for quite an enjoyable watching despite the worst idea ever for a film set on Mars. Also, the film doesn't drag it's feet, all the scenes last as long as they should, without any epic pretense. Back to the zombies.. it must be the accessibility of the zombie make-up that accounts for this inexplicable trope penetration into any genre fathomable, but they really need to cut down, it's been over a decade of f*cking zombie stuff already.

Do NOT watch "The Last Days on Mars," unless you're a 14-year-old boy who likes crude zombie flicks. Otherwise, don't waste an hour and a half of your precious life. The saddest aspect of this film is that they actually put a lot of money and resources into assembling a decent cast with some quality sets, and had real potential to make an intriguing and engaging movie about prospects for human space travel. But instead, they flushed all that down the toilet with a plot that steals rehashed themes from Alien and other real movies, and made the whole thing about zombies. You can't even credibly call this a "sci-fi" movie, because the only fiction is that this movie has anything to do with science fiction. It was physically painful to watch as much as I did before I started skipping ahead and finally quitting it. I hope no one else suffers through this horrible mistake of a film, and I hope all of the humans who actually worked on it learned some serious lessons about how NOT to ruin a prime opportunity to make a good Sci Fi film.
