Decided to watch because of Chloe Sevingy and the good reviews on here, but I just finished watching and well i am quite disappointed. I didn't find it psychologically thrilling, suspenseful or original at all.I kept waiting for something to happen, some revelation or surprise, but nope.Had the potential to be really good if they took it all the way but i feel like they only took it half- way, if that, perhaps i was expecting more brutality, or…something, not that what happened wouldn't be horrible for the lab rats, but eh. I find the idea interesting but, i feel cheated out an hour and a half. I would say don't bother watching,

Some people keep saying it was derivative but I loved the way this film pushed the genre constrains in it's own unique and intriguing ways. Sure it was clichéd at certain obvious moments and had its inherent flaws but at the same token it surprised me at a few turns. I won't spoil this for anyone and I wont tell you the plot but just give it a try if you're bored one afternoon and have an hour or so to kill. just Just don't expect an Oscar worthy performance or mind blowing character study. Not better than a 6/10 and the acting could have had a little more to it but I would watch something by these filmmakers again.

**SPOILERS** Totally off the wall and utterly ridicules movie involving this super secret MK-Ultra like mind controlled project in finding out, through a battery of inane and silly questions, who among us, the American people, is best qualified to be a future patriotic suicide bomber for their country. The four persons-Paul Brodie Crawford Haines Tony Mazzolla & Kerry Isalano-who answered the newspaper add and were accepted to participate in this project have no idea what they've got themselves into! The project is run by this self-absorbed control freak Dr. Phillips who has a new assistant that he's breaking in Emily Reilly who like those being tested has no idea just how crazy her boss is. Slowly but surly Emily realizes that Phillips' hair brained scheme in making normal Americans into crazed and unfeeling, to themselves as well as their potential victims, suicide bombers is as insane as he is but by then it's too late for her to back out! Locked in a room like rats in a cage the four are subjected to extreme mental as well as physical torture by Phillips & Co. that leads three of them to end up dead by the time the movie is over. Some of the idiotic things that their put through is answering and getting the answer right to the most absurd questions, with their lives literally hanging on the line in having the right answer! Questions like as an example in who was the New York Giant's third base coach when Bobby Thompson hit "The Shot Heard Round the World" off Brooklyn Dodger pitcher Ralph Branca!***SPOILERS**** The lucky or unlucky person of the quartet who ended up surviving in being qualified to be a future suicide bomber only qualification was that he was ready to blow his brains out and end it all. But that was not based on any patriotic duty,in willing to die as well as kill for his country, or any high minded cause on his part! But only because that person was pushed over the edge by Dr.Phillips' crazy experiments that were conducted on him! In the end we see the winning contestant of this experiment crazily running around in the secret underground military facility with the men in the white suits and butterfly nets not far behind him!

Watching "The Killing Room" is sort of a frustrating experience, because there seems to be a missed opportunity behind every corner. You just know there's a good movie in there somewhere, at times even several good movies, but whatever great material is buried in the mix just can't find a way to get to the surface. For instance: this film really had a fighting chance to be a dark, gripping, claustrophobic masterpiece. The four characters in the titular room are all well-written and competently acted (even by the surprisingly good Nick Cannon), their disputes are believable, their mysteries are interesting enough, but whatever atmosphere their scenes create is completely neutralised by the ridiculous number of scenes set outside the room. These are just so bland, so needlessly explanatory, one tends to wonder why they're even there. Why not just set the entire movie in just that one room, would have been way more effective and mysterious. "The Killing Room" is like this compelling magical illusion that the magician starts explaining while he's still performing it. It's not like this suddenly makes the illusion any less great, but it doesn't matter, it sucks out all the fun anyway. Furthermore, the twist ending is just kinda silly, if not just moronic. It's a thing you don't see coming, but when it does come it's still pretty "meh". This movie didn't work for me at all.
