Before the boards were shut down there was a lot of debate regarding this movie as most who have seen it I personally think didn't understand who was the test subject. The premise is that this movie is based on project MKUltra and to test the human mind to see if it will be passive to what is actually going on in and around the characters environment. The movie need a directors commentary to substantiate or debunk my theory on this, as I have been on record before the movie is about Miss Reilly.

I wanted so much to like this film. The premise sounded great and it really is the kind of movie I usually enjoy. Unfortunately, the tag line was the best part of this, it all when downhill from there. The story was bland and unappealing and the "big" twist at the end just makes you wanna slap the screenwriter.*Spoiler ahead* I guess they thought they were pretty clever by diverting expectations and showing the audience some stuff that doesn't actually happen. But instead it just makes the main character look like a heartless bitch. Which is even worse, as they previously showed her actually having a conscience. And the absolute WORST of all this was the sound constantly shifting from "barely audible" to "ear drum shattering". What the hell?! i couldn't make out what they were saying half the time. For a movie that has intellectual pretences, that is bad. So, so bad.

Much like the movie Exam, The Killing Room focuses on a room, and the four people who are situated in said room. The four think that they are there for some medical type research, and begin to fill in the mandatory paperwork. But after a sinister encounter with the person overlooking the whole scheme, turns a routine day in a literal fight for life. With every question given, one of the four will be killed off. What to do? Join forces, or plot against each other. The bonus thing about this film is that the four people in the from are relatively famous, so it's really hard to fathom out who will succeed, and who will perish, which usurps most movies like this, because its usually pretty easy to tell the chronology of who will go first.Other than that, it's pretty formulaic stuff. The group join forces, then one gets paranoid about the others, and one stays pretty quiet until the end.Timothy Hutton is the 'leader' of the group, and that's because he's been in more films than any other person in the room.Storm are puts in his obligatory bad guy schtick amiably, and Chloe Sevigny does perplexed and concerned pretty good throughout.Kudos to the very final reel though, it's pretty leftfield, and makes the whole film just that little more impressive. Not brilliant, but pretty good stuff.

This Movie has one Shocking Moment near the beginning and it goes absolutely nowhere from there. Nothing is at all Believable, although it is easy to believe that these types of Off the Books Nazi-Like Experiments are still being conducted even though MK-Ultra was Whistleblown, Congressionally Exposed, and then deemed Shut Down by the CIA. There are two glaring Blights that Perpetuate Modern Films. Mumbling, Muttering, Indecipherable Dialog and The Shaky Camera. This one Suffers from the Former. But that's the least of its Shortfalls. It takes a Fascinating Subject and Dumbs it down to a Horror/Schlock Level. Even at that it Slips, Stumbles, and Falls. The Feeble and Unrealistic Escape Attempts, the Ridiculous Riddles, and the Deer in the Headlights Performance by the Lead Actress are just a few worth mentioning.A Frustratingly Bad Movie that is Mishandled on almost every Level. Flatly Photographed, Shallow and Sophomoric Script, Wooden Acting, and Worst of all it takes a very interesting Subject and makes it Boring. A Misfire of a Magnitude that is Mind-Numbing.
