I was searching for a Syfy movie that wasn't too 'heady' or full of holes. I came across this on Amazon Prime and the short description caught me. From beginning to end I was wrapped up in it. Not a lot of CGI (none?), low budget, and very few sets. However the acting was very good, the directing and pacing was very good, and considering the deep subject, they did a great job of going just deep enough to keep it moving along. The cliff hanger ending was just enough for me to wonder if there'll be a part 2! Well done Aussie flick I'd watch again!!

Not really too much to say.... will you be intertained if you watch it with someone yes you will. Will you be watching an Oscar worthy film no you won't. Will you want to watch this again no. Part way through will be background music bother you yes. Will you wonder why the director and characters aren't exploring the magnitude of discovering another dimension and all the possibilities yes you will. But about 2/3 of the way through you might just accept this storyline as entertaining albeit a bit stupid at the end. Overall for a B-grade sci-fi it's worthy of a watch If someone gave this is 3 out of 10 I couldn't disagree. Was it a family loss-drama with a bit of sci-fi or a sci-fi that was wasted on an unappealing family-loss drama?

Despite, or perhaps because of the film's synopsis, I was completely drawn in. It bore some resemblance in themes to a few other sci-fi movies i'd seen, but not very many.In fact I found myself starting to jump ahead of the film's plot by figuring out many twists in advance, even to the point of figuring out the ending long before it unfolded. All the classic tropes of this sort of alternate-universe/mirror-universe stuff is there, from the secretly evil doppelgangers and the brief "oops we're in the wrong universe" foray which ends up directly tying in to the main plot later on. I'm doing my best not to spoil anything but the film is so easy to read that simply by going over all the common tropes, it becomes almost impossible not to spoil some aspects of the film. But the thing is that movies like this tend to be few and far between, and so I ended up enjoying it despite the easy predictability of it. It was fun and even exciting to go along with.

Most low budget SF movies I watch are not good, but this is an exception, I was impressed with this film. The lead actress who plays Jane gives an excellent performance as does the bad guy. the parallel world stuff is good too, bit like counterpart. overall thought provoking and worth a watch
