The great intellect and humanitarian, Josef Goebbels, ordered this documentary to be made in order to explain to everyone in occupied Europe why it's imperative to do SOMETHING about the Jews which were ruining mankind. In other words, it's a hate-filled piece of crap made by a bunch of hateful, bone-headed Nazis. It begins with the presupposition that Jews are evil and using film clips, it spends a little over an hour assaulting the intelligence of the audience with its hateful message. The film's logic is negligible and the film is cringe-worthy. It not only makes antisemitic remarks throughout, it also makes fun of blacks. It's just garbage. Now despite being garbage, I DO recommend seeing the film for its historical significance, as it's a wonderful summary of everything evil about the philosophical underpinnings of the Nazis. Plus, if you ignore history, you don't learn from it. See it and learn.

Independently of what one thinks of "Der Ewige Jude" (1940), directed by Dr. Fritz Hippler, it had a great effect. The reason why this movie was made, was to prepare the German nation for the imminent transport of the Jews out of Germany (so Hitler says literally in his speech at the end of the movie). Objectively speaking, the pictures have been so well selected as to fit perfectly to the text and thereby the massage of this movie. F.ex. we see only Ghetto-Jews living in dwellings full of cockroaches, Jews who are trying to cheat their Christian neighbors, Jews who proliferate like rats. So, also the famous comparison of the Jews and the rats is already prepared and does not seem to be lugged in. The migrations charts of the Jews on the one side and of the rats on the other side are based on a scientific technique that is still in use, f.ex. the expansion of certain marine animals which have been brought to foreign continents by early ocean-crossing ships, hence allowing to conclude the ways of the latter ones and so the earliest settlings e.g. in America. So, every single detail in this movie is correct - in the pictures as well as in the commentaries to the pictures, but the neutral watcher has no chance to decide if the mappings of the pictures to the texts (resp. vice versa) are correct, too. And here we have reached the most important question concerning all documentary-like made propaganda movies (incl. Eisenstein's "Que Viva Mexico!" !!): Is it enough that a theory is consistent if it supplies a certain amount of facts without contradicting itself? From logic, we know that from a false conclusion everything can follows - true as well as false sentences. And if one disagrees and requires a theory to fulfill additional conditions in order to be accepted as a "real" theory - should these additional constraints which are brought up independently of that theory really have an influence on that theory?

This shows whats people will believe when you shove something down their throats. The message of this is hateful, juedophobic and plain awful. The way they describe the common jew is a filthy, greedy corrupt, sub-human parasites. They even compare the jew to a sewer rat, it spreads disease and plaque and often attack in swarms. They said they interbreed and take the guise of Europeans and attack from the inside out. The depiction of jews is completely inaccurate and false, but that's what makes this film interesting, how ridiculous it is. So if you find propaganda films interesting or interested in history I'd fully recommend it.

Interesting? Hardly. The 'scientific evidence' the movie provides for its point (which is basicly that Jews are a cancer) is so stupid and lame, it's almost laughable (if we didn't know what happened in that era).Important? Nah. I can't imagine Germans (even at that horrid time) would like or believe this movie. Compare it to Riefenstahl's Triumf des Willens. Now that was I movie I was impressed with. This is just silly garbage.'Best' part is a scene from M (one of my all-time favorites) where (the jew, as the announcer so eloquently keeps reminding us) Lorre plays a child-molester and murderer. In the eyes of these film-makers, only a depraved mind can do so. Uh-huh. Didn't know M was Hitler's favorite movie, right?No, it's just plain STUPID. Even for it's nazi-propaganda genre. 2/10.
