An exceptionally adept Florida lawyer is offered a job to work in New York City for a high-end law firm with a high-end boss - the biggest opportunity of his career to date. The Devil's Advocate was another achievement for Al Pacino and one that has him playing the Devil and if we count out the weird transformation that the studio chose this film is still brilliant (perhaps the design that was used in End of Days would have been a better choice). Keanu Reeves is also brilliant but the person who stands tall next to Pacino's great perfomance must be hands down Charlize Theron who as the film goes on and on gets even better and better. The Devil's Advocate is a teriffic movie!!! (A+)

Entertaining satanic-themed 90s mumbo-jumbo. Pacino is great as the Prince of Darkness, all of his scenes are the best ones. Keanu Reeves is awful as the hot-shot young Southern defence attorney- just totally wooden and zero charisma. Charlene Theron is excellent as the initially gorgeous vivacious young wife who gradually descends into insanity as the film progresses.Connie Nielsen I didn't like, and don't generally in any of her roles. That "check me out I'm tall, hot, yet at the same time oozing Scandinavian coolness" look doesn't do it for me.The film is about on a par with one of its 70s inspirations I would say (The Omen) whilst is vastly inferior to another of them (Rosemary's Baby)

OK, full disclosure, I have a thing for Al Pacino. I'll watch just about anything he's in and...if he screams and yells a monologue in it, if he delivers a diatribe of rage....yeah I get flashbacks to him screaming: "I'd take a flame thrower to this place" and roll my eyes back like a shark in a feeding frenzy.Oh, yeah, almost forgot, Keanu is in this one too...but for a good slice of the film he doesn't play the most savory of characters and, really, honestly, he just seems too nice to play a lawyer......but despite that he does a pretty good job of exhibiting the ego that has to come with the law profession...just not the vile evilness. So, I can't totally fault him for miscast as I could for Dracula.Jeffery Jones is in there too and due to recent revelations he totally fits the sleazy lawyer role. But yeah, 1997, the 90s had a way with films that was only really beaten by the 70s and The Devil's Advocate is one of those films that could really only be made in those two decades. Stand alone horror not intended as a franchise piece and one with a twist that asks you to think a little. No way that would be made today and that is a shame.I could tout its glory, but really, honestly, the movie could have stank and I wouldn't care thanks to Pacino screaming "I'm a fan of man!" It's worth the watch.

Al Pacino I have to say, was absolutely brilliant at playing as Satan/Milton. He was just so funny when he admitted to Keanu Reeves' character Lomax that he was was the devil in the end. His attitude and corniness would definitely make you laugh honestly. You wouldn't realise what a best actor he is!Anyways I thought the movie was very good, I was annoyed that I miss midway of it because I forgot that my tablet was running, while I was out. So yeah, it's a bummer but sure, at least I didn't mess the best ending part! I'm glad the movie has got a great lineup of well known cast such ad: Charlize Theorn, Keanu Reeves, Craig T. Nelson and of course Pacino himself! It made the movie looking swell for a devil movie!
