The start is good, the acting is good, but the end is empty, don't have a explanation, so yes it end very confuse!

Set in 1960, the story follows two Vatican sanctioned priests to investigate and video document claims of an apparent miracle in a remote facility for wayward women run by nuns. When they are there, the skeptical but experienced older priest along with his young techy assistant, who is far more open to the possibility of other worldly goings on. They find there is possibly an evil lurking within the walls. Their investigation will lead them into mysterious caves where they make a shocking discovery. If that plot sounds familiar, it's because it was done practically the same in 2013's Borderlands aka Final Prayer . Whilst there are a few changes , it's largely the same . That's not to say it's a bad movie, it's quite effective with good performances, well used effects and a creepy atmosphere. It relies a bit too heavily on Jump scares and don't think to hard about the quality of footage if it was meant to be film in 1960. A few plot threads are left hanging. But over all it's a well made film with some good scares. I'm surprised no one else has picked up on the similarities to Borderlands before this

Unless the Vatican had the world's earliest and smallest Hi-Def camera with built-in sound recording at their disposal - in 1960, this looks all wrong. The forced 4:3 aspect ratio, rounded vignette corners, and occasional faux sprocket hole appearances aren't enough to make one feel that this is truly old-time footage shot on gear and stock available at the supposed time period. They didn't even bother to add any grain, color or stutter effects to age the appearance. Did they not watch any cinéma vérité from the past to get an idea of what this should have looked like? Plus this is supposed to predate Cannibal Holocaust by 20 years; yet it looks insanely modern - as clear and decent as even the latest cellphone could shoot. And intermittent bulb issues to add spooky factor? Um. no. I mean there was a good and workable story of Satanic child sacrifice underneath this. The acting is panicky and professional. Had they just found some old 16mm cameras and shot it as a regular movie, I would have been more impressed. Plus of course it was the nuns.

I wanted to like this film, but the blatant anti-Catholic feminist nature of the dialogue ruined what could have been a reasonable effort in the realm of "found footage" material. I am NOT Catholic, nor religious, and I know what Irish women of "low" birth were once subjected to in places such as the one portrayed in this film, but being set in 1960, much of the dialogue seems to come right out of 2018, so it simply doesn't work well. No surprise the director is female and therefor determined to shame the Catholic church. But she's cut off her nose despite her face in making such an ideological film. The main problem being that the viewer can't really get past the ideology and focus on the actual horror scenes.
