I'm not really sure whether this film is meant to be taken serious or not. Anyways i found found it very enjoyable to watch, because it really made me laugh at times. If the idea however was to create a proper action film then the director and actors somewhat failed. It's not that the action itself isn't realistic. Which is of course to be expected with Chuck Norris in the main role. The bare knuckle fights are intense but not otherworldly (and since both the chuck and his enemy know martial arts you know it's real) and when somebody gets shot in the chest he/she simply dies. However I can't say the same for the acting, which is for the greatest part very unnatural. No one seams to be shocked by death or violence particularly Chuck who even jokes about it.It seems like this man only has two expressions, being smiling and a neutral face. And that's what makes the film. The bad guy was also amusing, you wouldn't need to see him go wrong to know he's the villain. His looks, his gestures and black hair betray him. If you watch this film in good company and don't try to take it serious you won't regret it.

Chuck Norris goes the Charles Bronson route and makes a cookie cutter action flick despite his geriatric state. Chuck Norris at 65(!) is still kicking away and if this is any indication of what we should expect from Chuck Norris for the next couple of years, perhaps it's not such a bad idea that he peddles total gym commercials. The boring plot involves Nazis out to steal priceless jewels for some unfathomable reason and so they kidnap an old man and so his daughter (Joanna Pacula) hires out the help of Norris who is less Invasion USA and more Missing In Action. Seriously The Cutter has to be one of the least action packed films of Norris' career, Norris doesn't do many roundhouses and relies heavily on gunplay to get him by. In fact Norris seems to be in his old 80's mode where he was ruthless in his stoic presence however there just isn't enough action. In fact the bus sequence which is meant to be a homage to Code Of Silence, just reminds us how much the mighty have fallen.A Chuck Norris fact is that the chief export of Chuck Norris is Pain and with this movie, he has exported a good amount on his target audience.* out of 4-(Bad)

I remember when I was much younger, my dad was such a fan of Chuck Norris and we used to watch his kick arse films all the time. So when I found this film on the rack at my local video store, I couldn't resist renting it. I wasn't disappointed. The plot follows the life of a young woman and her grandfather (a Holocaust survivor) who are both expert jewel cutters. One day, the old man is kidnapped by a sinister man who has stolen an ancient Jewish artifact and plans on using the old man to cut design and cut the artifact to his specifications. A chanced meeting with Chuck Norris's Private Investigator character helps save both the life of the grand-daughter and that of her grand-father.

An action film starring Chuck Norris. Now, before anything else let me remind you the birth-year of Chuck, 1940. Yes, our beloved Chuck has turned 65 years old. The story is an interesting one involving the theft of a jewelry referred in Jewish scriptures which are badly presented on the film (cut for timing reasons). Chuck Norris along with all the other co-actors gives a persuading all-around performance with almost all the typical violent scenes revolving around diamonds, hence the title- someone "cuts" the diamonds). A low-budget film without the parade of smashing cars. A round picture without faults but nothing to write home about. A 6 out of 10.
