Rocky and Bullwinkle have been living off the finances made from the reruns of their cartoon show. Have you got 90 minutes to kill, and did you like the Rocky and Bullwinkle show when you were a kid? Then this is an OK movie. It has some clever wordplay, some cool special effects and cinematography, and you can safely watch it with children, who won't get all of the jokes or cameos anyhow. It's definitely better than most of what you will find on TV, but, on the other hand, it's no film masterpiece that's going to wind up on some best or most influential list. Going into this, don't expect too much, and you might like it, like I did. Simply take it for what it is, just some clean, harmless fun to wile away a little time.

Another relic from the "let's make a live-action movie from an old cartoon" fad from decades ago. Better than most of the others, but it still doesn't work, even with the decision to keep Rocky and Bullwinkle as toons rather than use, say, people in animal costumes.A full-fledged cartoon version would have been far better. The human actors don't fit in with their cartoon counterparts. Robert DeNiro certainly didn't fit the part of Fearless Leader (they should have given that role to Nicholas Cage, who had a more suitable physique). We could have done without "Nothing But A Dreamer" by Supertramp either (the cartoon didn't have music, other than the theme and some "dramatic effect" chords at times) This effectively spoiled the old cartoon atmosphere, and the story itself was meandering and ultimately boring and pointless. For the running time, they could have done so much more.Intended for fans of the old cartoon, but probably won't satisfy most of them.

Honestly, the person who made this movie was probably high on crystal meth while making this pile of pig crap. This movie stars Rocky and Bullwinkle in this first(And thankfully last) live-action animated movie. Is it me or is this movie trying to rip off Steven Spielburg's Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Here are a few issues with this movie.1) The names of the characters. Karen Sympathy? Oh, I get it! It's a play of "care and sympathy"! WHAT THE FLYING FLIP WERE THEY THINKING?! Can you at least come up with a name for the Fearless Leader other than "Fearless Leader?" 2) The actors. I love Jason Alexander for starring in Seinfeld, but he SUCKS for the role of Boris. What is Robert DeNiro doing in this movie?! For goodness sakes, he was in Godfather II and he sounds nothing like Fearless Leader. And that goes for Jonathon Winters(Who voiced Bigelow in the Pound Puppies TV Special) too! Also, why are Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchel, John Goodman, and Whoppi Goldberg(Yeah, Whoopi Goldberg! I'm not kidding!) in this movie too?! They're great actors, they should have known better! 3) The special effects. Personally, I think this movie is trying to rip off Who Framed Roger Rabbit with the same "animated cartoons in real live" gimmick. If you're really desperate, you should have let the whole movie be in cartoons. On the bright side, at least Jason Alexander apologized for starring in this heinous nightmare.

One of the gags in this film involves a Hollywood script screener rejecting movie scripts because they are "too intelligent" :-) Well, apparently this movie is too intelligent for most voters are IMDb, as they have (incorrectly) given this movie a 4.1 rating out of ten! Obviously, they are not "getting" the Hollywood "inside jokes' and humour, (Zoom! Right over their heads!) and I suspect that this is also is a generation thing; most of you didn't grow-up with Rocky and Bullwinkle. The cartoon, like many from that era, took swipes at Government, Politics, Hollywood, etc. They were made for adults too, not just kids. I suggest you read Roger Ebert's review of this movie and gain a basic understanding and an education from someone who has been the best movie critic for a long time. There is a reason why so many recognized and talented actors signed-on for this movie. It was smart and funny at the same time, and these experienced actors recognized that. You should educate yourself and you will "get it" too!
