Amy Sedaris is hilarious and she is in top form in this hilarious movie which is a prequel to a show of the same name. It's a crime that she isn't all that well known and useless talents like Amy Schumer are. The basic premise is that a 40 something woman who also happens to be an ex junkie returns to high school. Shenanigans ensue and the cast is ably supported by both known and unknown faces.

Sweetheart Amy Sedaris plays appropriately named, Jerri Blank in the off the wall comedy about a 46 year old ex-drug addict, prostitute and loser who goes back to high school. She appears almost retarded but she is everything but. The Comedy Central series from 1999-2001 named the same title, was 30 episodes of the same genre. She offers crude, down right shocking remarks that you have to laugh about. She is passive bisexual and lude and lacks all graces of the typical middle aged female. Amy Sedaris is hilarious and her off the chart behavior in this movie should get your mind off any problems. If you are expecting a truly down to earth teen age comedy, you will be disappointed as it is everything but. It violates sensitive politically correct subjects from race to sex preferences to gross references to drug and sex addiction in a very comical way that you just can't find offensive. Stand back and take a different perspective when watching this movie and don't take it so seriously and you will enjoy it greatly. She is truly a talented comedian. Everyone has to love Amy Sedaris. I was expecting a comedy and what I received was a tragedy! I continued to watch this movie just to see how bad it really could get. It was like a car wreak and I was a rubber necker. I would consider "It's Pat", "Manos: The Hands of Fate", the "Police Academy" series movies and others were better than this! I lost an hour and 25 minutes of my life that I wish I could get back. I can't believe that Stephen Colbert read the script and said to himself "Wow, this is a film I want to do!" The acting is horrible, the timing of jokes is even worse. I almost gouged out my eyes, shaved my head and threw dirt over myself. This movie wouldn't even be good on drugs! IMHO, avoid this movie at all cost!

When I saw the title I thought it would be a hilarious movie. However, when I watched the fist 10 minutes, I was deeply disappointed.For starters, Sarah Jessica Parker had a shameful role, and why she accepted the role is beyond me.Also, I wondered why no one thought it was strange that a 47-year-old was in high school. If she turned up at my high school, I would think she had a mental problem.We also didn't find out why she went to jail. On the plot summary, it said she was an "ex con-junkie whore" yet that is not explained in the movie.If anyone asked me about this movie, I would tell the not to hire it.Awful movie
