Akshay Kumar ans Prabhudheva are back after Rowdy Rathore. When Prabhudheva started making films which have a new concept and story (Not a remake), like R Rajkumar, Action Jackson and Singh Is Bling, the storyline became weaker and weaker. Though AJ was one of the worst films of this decade, SIB is somehow better than that one, even better than some of Akki's comedy movies, but, though nothing offers new! First time, I've seen Akshay Kumar in the film, where he can't be able to fight with villains. Instead of him, Ammy Jackson fights well. This movie belongs to her only. Lara Dutta has a cute small comedy role, which she had played nicely. Sunny Leone's cameo is also in the film. Yograj Singh as Akki's father has an impact. Rati Agnihotri is good. Kay Kay Menon, the villain, nothing much to do, then also he is too good like his one liner! Cinematography in Punjab, Goa and Romania is superb. Songs have been filmed very well. We have always enjoy the songs of Prabhudheva's films, like Saree Ke Fall Sa or Gandi Baat or Chinta Ta. Here also we can see his touch in all the songs. Tung Tung is truly melodious. A colorful song. Aja Mahi is my favorite. Chu Che is a fun song. Cinema Dekhe Amma is the song where we found something interesting things in the background. Overall, music is good and enjoyable. Though the film doesn't offer something new. We have seen the common man, fights for his love in the end to the villain and all ends in well. So, you can watch this only for some of comedy scenes in Goa or for the love of Punjab and Akshay. A time-pass movie.
... View MoreThere is a overdose of masala entertainment films by Akshay Kumar in 2015 - Baby, Gabbar Is Back and Brothers. Good news is that Singh Is Bliing is better than his previous film Brothers ... bad news is that it is yet another typical action-melodrama with nothing new to offer. Singh Is Bliing was a typical bran-less , nonsensical entertainer which was certainly an improvement over Prabhudeva's debacle Action Jackson A young girl Sara ( Amy Jackson) from Romania lands in Goa to her father's friend to search for her lost mother after her parents separated few years ago. Enters good-for-nothing but gem of a person - Raftaar Singh (Akshay Kumar) whose job is take care of Sara. Raftaar Singh becomes Sara's only hope to find her mother in Goa. After giving of string of masala films like Wanted , Rowdy Rathore, Ramaiya Vastavaiya, R..Rajkumar and Action Jackson, Prabhudeva is back with yet another popcorn entertainment with strong first half but diluted second half. The film begins with a bang with vibrant and tuneful song "Tung Tung", comedy scenes at Goa especially from Lara Dutta and the chemistry and comic humour between Akshay and Amy will keep you engaged throughout the 1st half. However, the film goes down the rabbit hole and is completely lost in the dark in the later part. Direction is lame with minute focus on screenplay at all. Screenplay is weak. Cinematography is amazing. Art direction is good. Background score is better. Editing could have been better. Despite weak merits, it is the performances which makes the film watchable. Akshay is fantastic. He will make you laugh with his superb dialogues and funny antics. Amy will surprise you as tough chick. The gorgeous actress emotes expressively and should go a long way. Lara Dutta makes a good comeback and does well in a minuscule role.Overall, Singh Is Bliing promises to deliver but is letdown by wafer-thin 2nd half. Watch it for Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson. Decent 2.75/5
... View MoreThis was ridiculous. I enjoyed the jokes but I couldn't bare to watch through this rubbish. Don't put non-indians in my Indian movies. And then you put the non-Indian in there and make them be like super power. indians are super power. and to top it off this was so fake you cant stand it. I can stand fake of Akshay flying around beating up baddies, but you put the pretty princess as the action hero? The priness beating up the goons? Oh and then the goon had a princess of his own that was action hero. What the hell? And stupid messages of promoting lewd disgusting and crude behavior from women this is ridiculous. And they tried to validate this behavior. I couldn't stand that and couldn't enjoy the Akshay style comedy. Completely ruined. Whatever "loveliness" the actresses had was ruined. Very poor movie. Lara's role wasn't so bad but still she got a bit of the same treatment.Songs were completely littered with English, i couldn't bare it. They sounded catch but it was ridiculous how much English they put.Ludicrous. Extremely disappointed.
... View MoreFirst of all please don't watch this movie if you want BABY or some sort of story driven movie. Common you -ive thinkers, take a break & watch this bliing to shine yourself with smile & don't use logic behind every scene. This one is one of the best comedy movie you would come across. Performance wise Raftaar Singh aka Akshay Kumar comes out in genre of comedy. He totally steals the show. He shines like any thing. you can't imagine any other actor filling this Raftaar Singh role. he owns it from the word go. Sara (Amy Jackson) in her first bollywood movie does marvelous job. she is a real surprise package in the movie. she does more action than our action kumar. she looks beautiful & hot. Other casts K.K. Manon, Lara Dutta as Emily & all supporting crew, all has done there bit perfectly.I will highly recommended this movie for Akki & if you want to have full time pass, laugh through out & just have a good time with friends & family than don't listen to -ive critics, just go & enjoy this fun ride. Must watch for nice outing.
