This movie is low budget but i didn't even notice it too much as soon as it started. The script is original and made me laugh. All actors are so damn funny and they are all so good for a small fund film. The violence are gory but not too much but very needed for the story. I can watch this again and again. My movie library consist of over 1000 DVD's. Yes, I live movies too much and I love all genres, even torture porn or pixar movies. So I do know what movie is good (at least to my taste hehehe). Shotgun Wedding is a must see and own!
... View MoreAnyone who doesn't rate this a 10 didn't watch it to the bitter end. One by one, every one in the wedding party goes crazy. Everything seems "normal" at first, but one by one, everybody in the wedding party turns up goofy. There are a number of sub-plots deftly weaving their way through the movie. the plot is about as irreverent as it can bee without being X-rated. I thought the movie was well cast with the MOG especially deserving of praise. The FOB did a pretty darn good job of "playing" the role of honor and corruption in the American legal system. everyone in the wedding party is convincing as each goes through a personality transplant into a darker version of themselves. I thoroughly enjoyed the "wedding".
... View MoreThis is an extremely black humor version of wedding videos.During the stupid but obligatory pre-wedding day drinking, the groom Robert accidentally shoots Pensee, the MOH (maid of honour) in the face while shooting skeet. Then the endless layers of cover-up begin. Covering up the original injury results in deaths.Yvette, the MOG (mother of the groom) and Hank, the FOG, are principal in the cover-ups, but Elizabeth joins in since she wants to be promoted to MOH to replace Pensee. Apparently she just does not care about legalities. Ted helps out as well. The bride, Rosemary, is kept in the dark almost until the end. A couple of the professional videographers stay quiet because they hope to get awards for their footage of the savage and criminal proceedings. The whole thing looks like it is about to unravel. However, the FOB, Philip, a four term judge running for re-election, makes it clear that nothing is going to hurt his campaign's chances.Do we have a happy Hollywood ending, or does justice prevail?-----Scores-----Cinematography: 6/10 Hand held camera problems aplenty, but a good chunk of the film was shot traditionally.Sound: 7/10 No problems most of the time; some of the sound from hand-helds was iffy.Acting: 6/10 I especially enjoyed Bonita Friedericy as the MOG, Kelsey Ford as Elizabeth, Brett Stiller as the bride's former boy friend, and Joel Miller as the FOB. Many of the bit players were not very good.Screenplay: 6/10 The script did a better job than I expected keeping the suspense up.
... View MoreIt is a "homemade" movie, that style of movie, high quality "b" movie but wait, it is more polished than most so , not a lot of "shakey " camera work , it's low budget , and i did not expect much , but for me , it took off in the first ten min's .there is some blood and gore, but not really in a scary way, all the gore is accompanied by lots of humor. not a scary movie at all ... just a good comedy.good humor , likable cast , well shot , and , OK , well written, This movie is what i think of when i think of weddings , call me a "commit-o-phobe", but my dad said , death is just a hop, skip and a jump from marriage.I am giving it a six out of ten --- I love the "magic in the air" line .... i would probably re watch this one , so ...."stamp" give it a watch if you were thinking about it.
