Shorty Trailers

The film is set on the campus of Hampden-Sydney College during the 2002 Tiger football season. Walter Simms has lived on the campus of H-SC for 28 years and has been an integral part of the community, the college and their football team. He is an icon at the prestigious, all-male Virginia school, where he has touched the lives of generations of young men and inspired an entire community. This season in particular is very special to Shorty. Written by Revolution Earth Productions

This movie shows the beauty of true spirit and the strength of community through the life of one man. One very special man, whom I shall forever carry in my heart. I grew up in the city and watching this movie allowed me a glimpse at the heart and soul of a small town. This film showed that there are exceptional people out there, maybe right in front of your face, maybe all the way in Farmville,Va. I loved this film from start to finish. I recommend this for the whole family. It will bring you close together and remind you what is important in life....each other. Kudos to all involved. I will watch this movie again and again.

I recently discovered this wonderful movie on Netflix. As the mother of a son with Down Syndrome I can honestly say this film is the best movie I have ever seen that deals with people who are differently abled. From the opening scene to the last frame of the film, my heart felt filled with joy. This movie will make you laugh out loud and cry tears of joy. The football scenes are well done and Walter "Shorty" Simms is truly a star! If you haven't seen this movie please rush out and rent it. You don't have to know anyone who has Down Syndrome...You just have to have a heart.Ima

A lifelong Virginian, I have to confess I had not heard the Shorty story before picking this movie up at the video store. It's a touching, entertaining story, and Walter "Shorty" Simms is priceless. There are some poignant moments (such as when Shorty's nephew is killed in a hunting accident) and some sports-movie drama (H-SC's goalline stand against Macon), but the production itself is rather amateurish. It looks like it was made by a local TV news crew, and lacks the depth it could have had if it had been made by more experienced filmmakers.Worth seeing, and very enjoyable; just overlook the production values and amateurish feel of the project.
