Huge disappointment for me as a fan of Dibakar Banerjee. Its shocking in a bad way. There is a scene in the movie in which Ahmedi's wife makes IBP as the agenda, the very idea which her late husband fought against. Now is this satire, not sure but surely this is not comical and yet I was laughing the way it was shown. I was wondering what was good about this movie all through even at the end. How can this be hailed by movie critics as a superb film is what is baffling.May be I am not on their side, but I am on the side of entertainment and this film truly did not entertain me in any way, neither is it shocking nor is appealing and least engaging. When I knew who had attempted a murder and who did it, why would I like it just to know how they caught the evidence for it. Abhay Deol was mostly murmuring throughout, Kalki has performed till date her worst, Emraan Hashmi is mis cast and Pitobash, Prosenjit just are characteristically confusing. Kalki kisses Prosenjit who is married and has a wife and in-fact is his student and then also romances Emraan, Oh, so what do you I have to infer of such character. Many question marks are raised and I have not seen any answers anywhere. But the whole point is missed which is of putting a political satire on how men and issues will be used for their own empowerment by politicians. If thats the point, I surely think its waste of an effort.Screenplay is misguided and editing is never even done, look at the song between Emraan and Kalki an you realize why. Cinematography, I am afraid was done with either HD SLR cams like 5D and that too with few frames shaky, an awful job it was done, its neither showing a dramatic face or is making it a documentary cut out. Sound design and Background score were also misleading. For a drama, we need to have loud music and mostly drum beats. I will go with 1/5 for this movie. May others like it, but this is not for me. Sorry Dibakar but you disappointed me.

This should easily be one of the best Indian movies of 2012 and I even dare to say, one of the best on recent pasts. This movie just makes you stick to your seats and the brilliant screenplay is very well portrayed by some amazing camera work and brilliant acting.Emraan Hasmi as Jogi Pamar is at his best ever. Right from the start of the movie, his character gets in to your minds and all the credit goes to Emraan himself. He has never acted so beautifully, in his career until now. Kalki does 100% justice to her character as well, and the way she brings out her emotions are too good for an actress who is new to this profession.Acting of Abhay Deol is out-of-the-world and he has proved yet again, why he is considered as one of the best actors/talent Indian cinema has seen in its recent times. In climax, when he delivers a dialog "Koi kal nahin, aur mein drink bhi nahin peetha", just clinches on to you and even on front of my TV screen wanted to get up from my seat and applaud him. And it is too good to see someone like Farooque Sheikh come back and deliver so well.Overall, this is just brilliant movie and a must watch for every Indian.

Another masterpiece delivered by Dibakar Banerjee (director of "Khosla ka Ghosla" & "Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!") … Based on a novel "Z" the plot is set in a small town on the verge of so called "PROGRESS" at the expense of the cattle class. The story moves in the backdrop of Bharat Nagar soon to be converted to Shanghai. Without revealing the plot much, the movie delves into the murky and dangerous political games played by ministers and bureaucrats without conveniently removing obstacles or people in the way (either by bribing or murder).Abhay Deol once again, as a South Indian (Madrasi ) IAS officer, delivers a hard hitting performance …. Emran Hashmi (my favourite) in a very believable porn film maker's character is amazing … Farooq Sheikh has still not lost his touch and is subtle but effective … Pitobash as Bhaggu (from the very first scene of the movie) is the surprise package as one of the small-time goonda … Kalki and rest of the characters fit perfectly in the plot.Music by Vishal Shekhar & the song "Bharat Mata ki" stands out.The movie is a wake up call for the masses and shows the other side of "PROGRESS" which we all choose to turn a blind eye.
