I think anyone reading these reviews that hasn't seen this yet should just watch it.It's different, it's strange, and the ending is... bizarre?it's so different from other movies that it's worth watching, a budget film that has an original idea, you'll question whats going on while you watch but the end is a proper 'what the...?!!' moment that doesn't seem to make sense, and so you try to make sense of it, and think about it for a long time...It's not action packed, but it'c clever enough to keep you going along with it, and i think it really underrated looking at the reviews,

It's a very cool and original movie! You come for the scares and stay for the bromance. The chemistry between the guys is so strong, and most importantly 'natural', that after the first act I was like 'ok, not what I expected but I'm in anyways'. The silly 'supernatural' plot point is riding that Spinal Tap 'fine line between stupid and clever' and the ending, which I'm sure lots of people will hate, is that kind of 'open' ending that lets you baffled, confused but at least in my case NOT disappointed. It makes your brain cogs move and tick to find your explanations and interpretations, which I think is good and lets the movie stick with you for a while. Pretty good acting, the two leads are believable and likable. Yes, even meth-addict f-up Chris is a lovable a-hole. Very well shot, has an independent look (low contrast and saturation, old film look) that is serving well the story. You don't want crispy 4k crap for a movie like this. Nice tension overall, a couple of jumpy but legitimate scares, tone shifts in an awkward, bumpy way sometimes but nothing too annoying. Give it a try if you are sick of paranormal activities, annabelles and devils inside.

Okay first of all for the people that call this a horror movie or even a thriller you're completely wrong. There is absolutely nothing in this movie that could be qualified as horror or thriller. It's just a mystery and after the end it just stays a mystery. The actors were not bad, but the story is just too long without anything really happening. If at least they would explain something at the end then I would consider to give a better rating but with this ending I think a five star rating is more then enough. I really don't get why people make movies like this one without a proper ending. What's the point of that? Nobody benefits from it. It's just a waste of time. Give me a million dollar budget and I will give you a proper story with a proper ending.

For a movie where not a great deal happens, I found Resolution an engaging effort. The acting from the main protagonists is compelling, the ambiance suitably unsettling, and odd characters come and go a la "Twin Peaks". Creating a claustrophobic and surreal environment, there was perhaps potential for something rather more than was realised. In truth this is not a horror movie in the modern, conventional sense. There is no gore, no monster, no torture porn. Yet there are moments that are genuinely creepy, and you do at least care about the characters unlike in most horrors of the stalk-and-slash variety. The ending will divide opinion, and nothing is given away here about the somewhat unsatisfying final scenes. Perhaps all will be resolved in a sequel ...
