When the titular antagonist of an action game takes on physical form, it's only the game's less powerful protagonist who can save their creator's family.

This film shamelessly copies T2, The Matrix and many other western scifi/action movies but does everything much, MUCH worse. It's difficult to describe how ridiculous it is: compared to this film Steven Segal's movies look like works of profound existentialism. The acting is terrible, the story sucks, the music makes your ears bleed and there are several 'musical/dance' scenes that only serve to make this piece of crap 156 mins long. There was a joke in India that admittance to this film was free but that you had to pay to leave the screening early and that the film made it's money that way. With Indian films like this they don't make much of a chance of getting a western audience either. Watch at your own risk!

This movie does not take itself too seriously if at all. There are some very sad parts to the film, but they are quickly overshadowed with hope, rebirth & lots of humor. The lead actor is serious eye candy for the ladies and its fun to watch the father/son elements that starts out with a lot of friction and ends with deeper understanding (on the son's side). I personally got a kick out of the dance scenes and they don't hurt the movie.. felt kind of like a music video between breaks or something.I would have rated this movie PG13 if not for the way one of the early characters died.. way to graphic compared to other deaths scenes in the movie and honestly clashed with the overall feel of the film. If they would cut that bit out, then the movie would have been fine as-is. But because of that I have to rate it R.Also, I enjoyed the flirtation between the two lead adults, but it left me wanting. They could have added more there. But because the time-line of the movie is so short, I get it. Wish they had stretched it out a little more. Also, its a great date movie :D Watched it with my hubby and we both got a lot of laughs out of this, in addition to ooh and aahhs.

When it comes to ambition, determination and hard work - there isn't really anyone in India that can compete with SRK. Being Indian cinema's biggest success story, SRK and his films come with huge expectations and anticipation. So it hurts just that much when you see a big film fail.More on that in a bit. I want to say that when Ra One was announced, I was skeptical. Not because it was SRK as a super-hero, I had bigger concerns. My bigger concern was director Anubav Sinha, who I think is amongst the most untalented directors. If you do not believe me, watch Cash and now, Ra One. However, when the release was coming near - I had started to expect more from Sinha. Then, I see this movie which is full of great action sequences, stunts, music and actors. What Ra One lacked most was what a film actually needs - A script, a soul.Shekhar is a video game designer who is out to always impress his son. He is married to Sonia, who for some reason is writing a ridiculous book on abusive language. To impress his son, Shekhar makes a video game character where the bad guy never loses. That game character, Ra One, somehow comes to real life and kills Shekhar and is now out to get Lucifer, the user name of Prateek, Shekhar's son. Circumstances lead Sonia and her son to India where Ra One will follow them, but Ra One will have to go through the protector and good guy of the video game - G One, a lookalike of Shekhar. The story on paper sounds good, in fact, great. To translate that on screen is a total different thing. Ra One seems like a film filled with action scenes but a lack of emotions. Also, how exactly does Ra One get out of the game? Why is he killing everyone? How does he reach India from London? There are some good things about this film. The music is just awesome. The visuals, effects and stunts are Hollywood-like. The film is visually brilliant. Sadly, the positives don't have much to do with the script.Writing is weak. Characters are not well developed except, maybe of SRK. There are a few good lines, though.Vishal-Shekhar's music is out of this world. The songs are all lovely! Dildaara is my pick. Criminal and Chamak Challo are outstanding as well.Anubhav Sinha's direction is sore. I don't know what is in this guy, but he cannot make a good film.SRK has the charisma that is so strong that it shows in a lifeless character of G-One. SRK holds the film together, barely, since it's such a bad movie.Kareena and crew all do okay. Arjun Rampal is convincing.Ovearll - A disappointment and surely a film that could have been better. Sadly, Hindi Cinema still does not have a proper superhero. (Krrish was crap too)

you have to see this it s a very very great movie.I don,t have words. The film follows Shekhar Subramanium (Khan), a game designer in London living with his wife (Kapoor) and son (Verma). He designs a motion sensor-based game in which the villain is more powerful than the hero. The villain escapes from the game and begins to track down Lucifer (Verma), the only player to have defeated him. Ra.One was co-produced by Eros International and Red Chillies Entertainment, and was expected to release on June 3, 2011. However, the release was delayed to the Diwali weekend of October 26, 2011 due to extensive post-production work. it was announced that the film would be converted to 3D. Red Chillies VFX incorporated the visual effects under the supervision of Hollywood effects technician Jeffrey Kleiser. Ra.One cost an estimated 125 crore (US$24.94 million), making it Bollywood's most expensive film at that time, and India's second-most expensive film after Enthiran. A record amount of 52 crore (US$10.37 million) was spent on marketing. The marketing included a nine-month publicity campaign, brand tie-ups, merchandise, theme-based video games and extensive viral marketing. However, several problems including censorship, soundtrack leaks and copyright issues caused concerns that the film would not be ready for release.
