After a plane crash, a young therapist, Claire, is assigned by her mentor to counsel the flight's five survivors. When they share their recollections of the incident -- which some say include an explosion that the airline claims never happened -- Claire is intrigued by Eric, the most secretive of the passengers.

I enjoyed this movie but I had it figured out very quickly. I am surprised that no one has pointed out that it is a reworked Sixth Sense. Good Acting, great cast.

The juicy featured Anne Hathaway is a clinical psychologist assigned to do grief counseling with the survivors of an airplane crash. She is enthralled by one of them, Patrick Wilson, and has an affair with him. No special effects to speak of, little tension, evocative photography, lots of unanswered questions, and a resolution whose impact eluded me.I didn't care much for it. Hathway's psychologist should have been cashiered in graduate school. She's easily upset, shrieks readily, radiates self consciousness, and seems uncertain about herself.I didn't like her paramour either. He's TOO sure of himself and smirks too often as if aware of his own phermomones. And he's hitting on her for the first few minutes of the movie and thereafter. She gives it up after a refreshing night-time dip in some arctic waters. Verboten. Some might call it transference. I call it baloney.Andre Braugher, a fine actor, should have had more screen time.Apparently it's appealed to some viewers. You might want to check it out.

It has been noted elsewhere that some reviews reveal some of the plot of this film, if only indirectly. I shall not do that here."Passengers" might best be described as a psychological mystery, because much is made of the psychological states of the characters. The main character, Claire (Anne Hathaway), is a counselor who works with people suffering from PTSD. She is assigned a group of plane crash survivors. Her sessions with the survivors make her more aware of her own life choices. And she feels an air of mystery surrounding the crash itself and how the airline is dealing with the aftermath. As usual, Anne Hathaway is great in her role. The entire cast is, really. Co-star Patrick Wilson--who I was unfamiliar with--is fun to watch as a quirky crash survivor who challenges Claire, making her examine herself. It is difficult to tell if some holes in the story are really just red herrings, but either way it is fun to unravel its mystery.

Passengers is a mix of the thriller and suspense genres, with a little romance and mystery added in for good measure. If that all sounds like a lot to fit into 93 minutes...well it is. Anne Hathaway stars as Claire, a psychiatrist who is assigned to assist a few survivors of a horrible plane crash. As she gets to know the survivors, she becomes more deeply involved in a seeming conflict between the survivors and the airline that appears to be trying to hide something. She grows especially close to Eric, a man that Claire is strangely attracted to, despite his rather odd behavior. The story is pretty interesting, and leads you down a few different paths before you get to the ending. It's all pretty well done, and as long as you don't dwell on a few plot holes, you may be pleasantly surprised with how it all ends. The main problem with this is that the movie length is simply too short to make the frequent transitions in style seem fluid. The ending comes completely out of the blue, unless you have been paying incredibly close attention. I think the creators of Passengers had a good idea, but I would have liked to see it executed a bit better. Passengers is original and unpredictable, but that's not enough to lift it from okay to great.
