Perfect to go with Wreck It Ralph, which was one of Disney's best films since the Renaissance, and a great contrast to it as well. The animation and music are especially good in Paperman. The music is subtly sparkling and nostalgically whimsical, it fits beautifully and matches the story and characters nuance for nuance. The animation is outstanding, it meshes black and white sketches and computer animation(with the only other colour an effective red) and the two styles blend really well. The black and white colours look wonderful with an atmospheric soft grain, even the magic at the end which didn't look fake at all. There's symbolism too and a lot of it but not in a way that's odd or out of place. The story is one that might not work for a few(like with the magic) but one that most people should have no problem with, it has a set-up that has been done numerous times but the way it's told is simply but not simplistically and with much emotion and heart. And all without the characters uttering a single word, which is testament to how vividly and the colourful the characterisations came to life. The characters are familiar and somewhat archetypal but are written with such nuance and colour that that becomes irrelevant. Paperman was genuinely touching and didn't ever feel manipulative, I admit I was teary-eyed when it finished because the story really connected with me and the animation was so beautifully done. Overall, beautiful and touching short that deserved its Oscar, not one to be recycled. 10/10 Bethany Cox

I like this film very much. I thought the story had the identity of Disney. The part with the paper airplane reminded me of the scene of "Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi" where the paper doll chases Haku. And also it reminded me of the the other Disney film Fantasia. In that film, the bloom starts moving like the paper airplane in this film. I also thought the story which contains coincidence is very good. I like the part where the man throws the paper airplane and it doesn't go well every time. We could estimate that the airplane won't reach her, so I enjoyed how the airplane will be disturbed. This kind of happy ending makes me feel happy after watching.

This is a nice story.I could watch over how the man and the woman meet again. When I watched this film, I could have a feeling which I have when I fall in love. I want to see him and hope to see him, but I can't see him. It is such a feeling. The movement of the characters is archetypal. I like the motion which is peculiar to animation movies like this. The characters are very cute. I also like that point. At the end, the man and the woman could see each other again. I was lighthearted to watch the scene.

In this story,a lot of airplanes made by the young salary man portray his real feeling toward the young woman he met at the station. And he also seemed to desire to escape from his featureless daily life.A lot of people in our society have the same desire for escaping like that man,but we cannot help managing our daily tasks.I think romantic feeling will drive us to live more excitingly than before, and that kind of feeling can relieve us of melancholy for our daily jobs.Romantic feeling can change our daily lives,so we should recognize our real feeling toward someone.Energy for romance can sometimes be more powerful than energy for work.
