My ex girlfriend who barely watches any Hollywood movies warned me how bad this movie was. I was a bit concerned that someone like her who has very little expectation when it comes to movie experience thought this was a terrible movie. So i checked it out of my curiosity and i can seriously say this movie is actually one of the corniest movies i have ever seen. It's up there with the happening. Very unintentionally cheesy plot and Beyonce's acting in this is terrible. I gave it to only for Idris Elba, anything else in the movie actually sucks lol.

.............................................................from Pasto,Colombia...Via: L.A. CA., CALI, COLOMBIA and ORLANDO, FLNow, if you're thinking to yourself… "What the H*LL kind of alternate Title is that!?!?" Then, how about this one: "My Guess is as Good as Yours!" Because if you're OBSESSED with well written, logical and solid story lines, the second title option fits the bill like an 80's style Madonna glove! (You know, the ones with holes for your fingers! OBSESSED has more plot holes than an Iraqi minefield!) My motivation for Watching this? A Friend's Review...Go ahead and a second (or 3rd) opinion that differs notably from mine! And it's not like I didn't TRY to really enjoy this film. Convinced that if I put my Suspension of Disbelief into overdrive, I might reach the credits with a 7 or 8 Star rating. But my intentions were overwhelmed by a totally deficient story line, and at times, anemic dialog, coupled with a good number of story thread loose ends.Don't get me wrong, OBSESSED obviously had some positive qualities going for it, or it never would have received 5.5* from the Id of Dr. Morbius. Ali Larter turns in a fine performance as the delusional mistress wannabe. If the scripting had provided her with a more developed, fleshed-in character, I dare say her performance might have been Oscar nomination caliber.People don't seem to be giving Idris Elba the credit he deserves. His performance as the responsible executive/unwaveringly loyal husband was utterly credible, absolutely spot on. Considering he's from London, his rendering of an American accent was flawless, and I can offer that up as an Expert, Professional opinion. Beyonce, it should be noted, is making a supreme effort to improve as an actor. Maybe she's trying too hard, because in spite of her energy and focus, her performance barely registers an "OK". Well, at least she seems to be headed in the right direction! OBSESSED seemingly has borrowed elements from a slew of different movies. Several films are mentioned repeatedly in other reviews. Here are other examples: The War of the Roses; specifics here would amount to a Spoiler, so sorry! And the foreboding music, which itself amounted to a spoiler in some early scenes, seemed to be lifted directly from "Basic Instinct"! 5.5 Stars....ENJOY/DISFRUTELA! (As Much As Possible!)

Attractive and successful financial adviser Idris Elba (as Derek Charles) becomes acquainted with leggy blonde "temp" Ali Larter (as Lisa), when several office secretaries take time off. Frequently flashing her legs, Ms. Larter is efficient at work and makes it known she's available for sex with Mr. Elba. Happily married to beautiful red-haired Beyoncé (as Sharon Sheridan), Elba declines. Larter doesn't take "no" for an answer and tries to seduce Elba, repeatedly. She pleads for fellatio then jumps in his car to show off her underwear. Elba tells Beyoncé, "I would never cheat on you," but can't convince her the naked blonde in his bed wasn't welcome..."Obsessed" is a predictable, sub-par "Fatal Attraction". Elba is able to get in some fairly good acting, though his leading ladies are less lucky. Larter could have been helped by some back-story involving her sketchy character; that she has a sister adds no understanding. Mostly known for her recording career, Beyoncé simply hits the high notes. Capable and recognizable players Christine Lahti (as Monica Reese) and Jerry O'Connell (as Ben) have little to do, but they do it well. After some slow-going and implausible communication, director Steve Shill tries to liven things up and leave viewers swinging on the chandelier, so to speak. That works.****** Obsessed (4/23/09) Steve Shill ~ Idris Elba, Beyoncé, Ali Larter, Christine Lahti

This movie is not only terrible in morals but also is super boring. I am blown away by how boring this thriller is.I feel like i am wasting anyone's time to even explaining how dull this movie is. There is no reason for the motives in this movie where its counterparts like single white female or hand that rock the cradle explains. This movie reinforces the 'crazed woman' stereotype and does so in a boring slow paced manner. The film is filled with some great actors, yet fails as whole. i was procrastinating doing school work and even got bored. There are so many issues with continuity, one major flaw is the size of the child in this movie goes from a 2 year old tot sized child to an infant being carried under a blanket in his mothers arms in another scene. overall a fail, an unforgivable fail really.
