I watch a lot of documentaries but there's only one I go back to time and time again and get the same joy I got watching it the first time...And that's National Treasure.Nicolas Cage sweeps all this time! He looks especially manly in this one. Riley, his computer genius pal is HILARIOUS! And Abigail, hubba hubba! It's a miracle documentary. Full of miracles. 10/10 IGN

With Director:Jon Turteltaub who has done the other national treasure has also done the while you were sleeping and sorcerers apprentice does a fine job here in a action thriller that he is more capable of Nicolas Cage .is Benjamin Franklin Gates listening to his grandfather from his childhood Christopher plummer character has a cameo here inspires a young gates to be a puzzle seeker to find clue and look for conspiracies in history a great cast with his sidekick Justin bartha character following around as Riley chasing clue and doing the hi tech stuff with Sean bean character Ian Howe trying to follow his clue from finding a ship with clues in the ice to and underground cavern under a church its quiet the action packed film I saw in the cinema with support roles from Jon Voight as Patrick keeping the police off his soon with Harvey keitel as detective saduskyA historian races to find the legendary Templar Treasure before a team of mercenaries Benjamin Franklin Gates descends from a family of treasure-seekers who've all hunted for the same thing: a war chest hidden by the Founding Fathers after the Revolutionary War. Ben's close to discovering its whereabouts, as is his competition, to reveal The greatest adventure history has ever revealed with history and museums to plunder it's a high stakes at best so with a big Budget:$100,000,000 (estimated) it Grossed$173,005,002hunters pick up a female ally along the way as they try to beat a rich bad man at finding the greatest cache of treasure of all time. Nicolas Cage gives an effortlessly engaging lead performance. His male and female sidekicks (Diane Kruger and Justin Bartha) play off him quite well. The main villain (Sean Bean) is a more low-key bad guy than we tend to see in movies these days... he doesn't go on and on ranting and raving and screaming to prove how bad he is... he just proves it quite matter-of-factly through his actions. Jon Voigt and Harvey Keitel do alright in a couple of minor roles that don't do much for their acting cred but probably gave their bank accounts a boost... . I was also pleasantly surprised that there were less dumb action stunts than I expected. The two major stunt scenes in the film (a car chase and a stairway cave-in) were pretty exciting... the movie wisely concentrates more on plot and dialogue from the producer of the pirates of the Caribbean Jerry brucheimer comes a thrilling edge of your seat adventure puzzle story like DA vinci code staring nick cage and abundance of special effects and an outstanding supporting cast as an obsessed treasure hunter tries find and decipher ancient riddles left behind that will lead to greatest treasures ever known by man in history and he is dogged by ruthless criminals who wont leave him alone and needs it himself heart pounding chase across Washington dc from the library to the George Washington memorial to the bell tower of independence to the declaration of the American society with close calls make the stakes even higher in a crime caper and one of Disney's exciting treasure hunts ever experienced I hope you enjoyed my review its just under 2hr 10mins

I've heard tales about archaeology professors who insist on opening their first lectures with the following words: "Indiana Jones has nothing to do with real archaeology!" And I like to imagine that at that point about half of their pupils get up and leave, with their little hearts broken. But can you really blame them. Indiana Jones made archaeology and history cool, as well as romantic. We traipsed along the pages of history with good old Indy, learning a nugget of information here and there. Keeping that in mind, I wasn't at all surprised that this film became such a success. We've yearned for another Indiana Jones movie for decades, even more so after the disappointment that was the fourth film. And make no mistake, this is an Indiana Jones film at its heart. Sure, Ben Gates (Nicolas Cage) is his own man, but there are a lot of similarities to a certain fedora-wearing globetrotter. Both men of history, highly-educated, with multiple distinctive talents under their belts. Both men of action, who have the wits to out-think all their opponents. But, the films are also dissimilar enough. This film takes place in the modern day and chooses to focus on American history. More specifically the Founding Fathers and the supposed Knights Templar treasure hidden by them to keep it from being abused and stolen. The film also focuses more on the mystery and puzzle solving than any of the Indy films. The treasure is hidden well and it takes a truly knowledgeable man to solve all the clues. And I really like that. I was hooked from the very first riddle. It's also surprisingly well-acted. This is very much my favourite Nicolas Cage film. He plays the character very straight, very serious, with almost none of his usual antics, and the man can really act when he wants to. The supporting actors aren't bad either, with special mention of course going to the esteemed Sean Bean, who manages not to die for once in a movie. This is a must see film for all fans of adventure and especially Indiana Jones. It's the spiritual successor of one of the greatest adventure trilogies ever made and I hope they keep making them.

National Treasure (2004) starring Nicolas Cage, is one of his biggest films to date. Released back in November 2004, the film was considered a surprise hit, which eventually lead its way to a sequel. The enjoyment of this film isn't in its suspense, there's surprisingly little of it. The clues come too easily but are made cleverly for audiences to grasp at. The two lead actors don't seem much interested in each other, and the writers don't seem much interested in them. Though what engages in the film is the clever script that does work and is entertaining. National Treasure has received mixed reviews, all some are justified but for a film such as this (aimed towards a younger audience) many critics can be as harsh.Within what we see, including the prized document, the fascinating tours of the historical halls and passageways and ventilation shafts and catacombs we get as the good guys try to outrun the bad, gives the movie a sometimes irresistible ambiance. Although quite over the top in some scenes, it makes it an entertaining and fun thrill ride.
