I was into the movie without much expectations but voilà! This is indeed a different and excellent attempt in Tamizh Cinema. Movies like this actually rise the standards of cinema to another level. The Characters and their detailing is what I liked the most. You don't see this often in Indian cinema where one character appears suddenly and vanishes.Director Naveen must be appreciated for his sharp dialogs and the way he delivered those dialogs is simply very realistic showing the urge and need of the low class people.Centraayan character is the trump-card here as it adds the much needed laughout-humor content into this movie. Watch out for that. The lighting effect for the whole movie was handled for the black comedy essence which was a great success, kudos to cinematographer.A must watch fun-filled ride which is a serious one actually!

Moodar Koodam is a very well crafted comedy but got very dragged due to extra characters. 1. Acting was very good 2. Creds to Naveen for creating a great movie for a débutant director 3. Plot was very nice and dialogue was immensely impressive 4. Lots of funny part in the first half and most of the second part 5. Action sequence at the end was very dramatic 6. Certain parts were repeated, such as putting them upside down, were needed which helped the movie 7. only negative: there were too many characters which made the end a little bit confusing and caused a little bit of lag. 8. Also, creds to the main cast for the expresions, amazing. 9. Amazing movie and you must watch it.

WARNING : THIS REVIEW MIGHT CONTAIN SPOILERS. Now.. THIS IS A HILARIOUS MOVIE!!!I enjoyed it thoroughly laughing uncontrollably almost each and every scene, clapping my hands here and there, which is something that i very rarely do. Its a wonderful mixture of dark humor , satire, straight humor, light humor and subtle humor. The screenplay is a little dragging ; the graph of the viewers interest should climb up in any movie but here it is just a straight horizontal line and that is because the main motive of the protagonists lacks sentimental value. This central curiosity element has been turned into a comic charade which of course makes us laugh BUT we do not CARE. This movie scores on so many levels -The performance of every single actor in the movie is great! MY KUDOS TO - Vellai (Rajaji), Boss'u' (Naveen ), Sendrayan (The opening batsman), Kuberan, the doll thief with job ethics,'auto Kumar' (Sanjeeve), everybody in the hostage family & the REST OF THE CASTING. My hats off to the 'CELL PHONE GIRL' Rindhiya Sivabalan! I would watch MOODAR KOODAM any number of times just for the sweet performance of that cute little girl! WHEN the performance level of all the artists are so awesome in a comedy movie, NOTHING ELSE MATTERS. But still.. there are more and much more..The short back stories carefully placed through the movie, shows the height of creativity of the director who has also written the script. There is freshness & innovativeness in the art of movie making in this movie which makes it secondary only to 'PATHINAARU VAYATHINILAE'. Some cynics might disagree but i do not care. So much said.. VISUAL PRESENTATION of the movie is also obviously very good. Congrats to the cinematographer and the graphics & animation team.Music by Natarajan Sankaran is commendable. The romantic number 'kannodu kankal mothi vandha vetkam' is a haunting melody; singer Srinivas at his best. The background score adds life to the visuals.Editing is brilliant. The visual feel of the back story of Vellai's (Rajaji) lost love is so painfully sweet that i wish, the director would make 'EPISODE VELLAI: MOODAR KKODAM' a separate new movie.Last but not the least.. DIALOGUES. Fantastic Mr.Naveen!. A brilliant knock by the captain!. "Can i borrow your pen please?!".I WISH THE DIRECTOR DIRECTS A COUPLE OF SEQUELS OF 'MOODAR KOODAM'. THIS MOVIE IS THAT GOOD. PERIOD.

after "Aaranya Kandam", this one is brilliant try at making offbeat films in Tamil cinema. director's work is really commendable and he is one among many who needs to be encouraged. though the film might seem to be inspired from "city of god" and Guy Ritchie's film "the lock stock and two smoking barrels", the director hasn't flopped ultimately in showcasing a quality film. the has been many instances of failure in making a film by getting inspired from Hollywood movies, but this one is surely an exception.those who haven't seen the above mentioned films will really find it fresh.everyone who has the intent to encourage quality films and who don't believe in the success of mass hero's commercial films(which is an absolute waste of time from my perspective) , please watch it!! its only for you guys..
