An improbable set of ridiculous events puts Balakrishnan in a spot. His uncle is to hand over his property to him after he meets his wife, Maya. Trouble is that Maya has apparently ditched him at the last minute over some misunderstanding, and he is in dire need of cash. So he hires an actress to play the role of his wife. Enter Maya Mohini, who turns out to be a male fugitive with an agenda of his own, dressed up as a woman. Hilarity ensues, or so the filmmakers thought. The film's pure garbage.I don't know what the fascination is for dressing up guys as girls, but excepting very few instances (a la the talented Robin Williams's Mrs. Doubtfire), it has always fallen flat. Mayamohini is a particularly bad example of this type of movies. I was turned off from the trailer itself, and decided not to watch it, but some friends told me that there's a rather good twist and reason for the act, and curiosity finally got the better of me. After weighing in the facts, I conclude that my friends were on crack. The trailer hinted at rubbish, and the movie delivered rubbish.

Well, the plot is so, so disturbing, the viewer might want to barf at all the nonsensical jokes spoken throughout the film. Dileep tries to fancy his own skill and indeed fails to charm the viewer. The jokes are too vulgar and hence the movie is not at all suitable for watching with family. Some sequences makes you stop watching it and go for an opera or something.Bottom line: Do not watch if you want peace in your life. The movie sucks towards the end. Watch it for Biju Menon & Hariraj!2 hours and 40 minutes of baloney cannot be tolerated by a movie connoisseur. Stay away if you are a movie-holic!

The movie from the start itself gives you a peek of the worst that is gonna come after watching it whole. The thing I don't understand is how they called it family entertainer when all the dialogues had an inter meaning or double meaning in an explicit way. Then a gay kiss of Dileep and Baburaj, then utter foolish acting of Baburaj. Biju Menon did justice to the movie by acting it out as he was supposed to but the rest even Dileep as a Lady was not convincing with over acting and expressions that are beyond needed, and finally he tends to look like a Hijra/Hijda/eunuch rather than a female who exposes too much with swimsuit and all to get claps from the audience. The story line with some tom & jerry chase scenes(baburaj&biju menon chasing Maya in hospital, police thief chase sequence and hunt) were the most horrible scenes. All the dialogues had a bad alternative meaning when Dileep talks to Biju menon and Baburaj which made me think why this movie was allowed to come to screens without proper censorship. Anyway I did 1 thing wrong invited my friend to see this and he would n't even allow me to fast forward the movie as it was the punishment for me for inviting him to this awesome worse family entertainer.

Mayamohini is one of the worst movies I have seen recently and can really tear you apart. A sub standard movie, and not worth watching with family, as it has lot of double meaning dialogues, and nothing new. A real waste of time and money, and Dileep should stop acting and concentrate more on mimicry and fancy dress, and He is a disgrace to Malayalam movie industry. The plot keeps dangling here and there, and comedy seems so artificial only exception being Baburaj. FINAL VERDICT : Awful and can be avoided by all means. Thanks for reading the review.
