I will be honest and say that the only reason I wanted to see this film really was because of the two leading actors in it, I thought bits and pieces would be relatively amusing, so I was prepared to ignore low critic ratings and give it a go anyway, from director Les Mayfield (Miracle on 34th Street, Flubber, Blue Streak). Basically in Milwaukee, Wisconsin dentist and dental supply company salesman Andy Fiddler (Razzie nominated Eugene Levy) is an ordinary man due to give a speech to investors in Detroit, and Derrick Vann (Samuel L. Jackson) is a hardcore undercover ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) agent trying to recover stolen arms following the death of his federal agent partner. It is after a case of mistaken identity that Andy winds up having to stick close to Derrick to help in his investigation, criminal Joey Kane (former Bros singer Luke Goss) believes that Andy is "The Man" behind it all and wants to make a deal with him. As the investigation goes on and they try to work out what is going on and how to stop the criminal activity, Derrick finds Andy to be getting in the way, asking too many questions and generally just talking too much, but he knows he is part of getting close to the criminals. Also starring Miguel Ferrer as Agent Peters, The Adjustment Bureau's Anthony Mackie as Booty, Susie Essman as Lt. Rita Carbone, Horatio Sanz as Santos and Rachael Crawford as Dara Vann. Jackson plays his usual if clichéd cool guy character fine, and Levy is indeed often rather annoying with his over the top facial expressions and constant talking, at least Goss does quite well as the British villain, the laughs are supposed to come from the friction between the federal agent and the ordinary annoying man, I admit I found certain parts funny, but it is indeed a predictable and sagging action comedy. Okay!

Not really awful but one will always wonder what possessed the immensely talented Samuel L. Jackson and Eugene Levy to make this film together. Maybe it was some sort of a deal or perhaps even a dare.It is immensely familiar to see the opposites in buddy comedy territory but usually there is some kind of twist (think: Lethal Weapon or the original Odd Couple). The difference is in this case is that none of the characters are suicidal. This is not to say that I didn't enjoy some of the moments in here. Levy is incredibly good at playing the nebbish and of course Jackson could do his part in his sleep. There is even a little scene that references some of Jackson's previous work with regards to him using the F-word like he had some kind of reverse V-chip installed within him.Ultimately, this is a failed attempt. Even the villain is not all that evil. He seems rather pleasant, except for the fact that he is involved in criminal activity. So, if you absolutely don't have anything else to do, watch this. You will not die laughing but you will be mildly entertained.

This was a very diligent movie. There are characters and a plot, but the production overrun. I think people going to movies should have a good idea of what expected/ Way to go Mayfield Les, this is a movie.let's face it this movie is "different" from all the Hollywood schlock, there is something there...elln page has a dog named pesatchio and god good actors after shocking madness.when eugene levy wiggles his eyebrows it makes it funny and funnier than American pies.Rating: if you liked Riding the bus with my sister and Wild Strawberries, you'll like this one.

I sat down in front of my TV and turned to HBO and "The Man" happened to be starting at that moment. I needed two hours to pass, so I watched it.I was pleasantly surprised. The idea to put Eugene Levy and Sam Jackson in a movie together was a clever one. They bounce off each other perfectly. The jokes in the movie range from farting humor to Eugene Levy explaining that the human bite is very painful (which I found funny). I found the film to be above average funny. The film's humor and suspense are abundant enough to keep you watching the whole 83 minutes. It is definitely a great movie to watch just to burn time.7/10.
