I watched this movie about four times by now I guess. And it's always funny as when I watched it the very first time. The funny thing about this movie is that actors are not trying to be funny at all because I really hate those comedies where character(s) are trying so hard to be funny (Hangover, Neighbors etc).I don't find funny drunk guys laughing like idiots, not remembering what they did last night (and they did a lot stupid things, obviously).I find funny when a guy in prison bus asks another guy "Where you heading?" and he answers "To prison." and the first guy says "Hah, me too.I tell you what,we should be cellmates. I don't snore and I'm a pretty quiet masturbator"Also, warden's welcome speech and making fun with Mr. Shanahan regarding bets on prisoners were brilliant. All in all, this is not a movie for those who have ordinary sense of humor, this movie will work only for those with dry humor.

I chose to watch this movie because of three different factors. First, Will Arnett is in it. Second, it's directed by Bob Odenkirk, while I know practically nothing about his directing, his name still made me interested. But the third and final reason that made me watch Let's Go To Prison was that it seemed extremely stupid. It's always refreshing to watch stupid comedies. But was this comedy stupid? To be honest, it could've been stupider. The plot was actually pretty sly. The writing amazed me, not because it was that brilliant, but mostly because I was expecting something so much worse. It actually was pretty fun to listen to the dialogue, and it sometimes was even clever. Also certain plot twists were no easy to predict, and the movie was so much fun. I felt ashamed of how many inappropriate things felt funny in this film. Also this movie has the perfect ending. There's clever twist and then the last setting feels idyllic. The story was told in an interesting way. First-person narrative is always pretty interesting in a movie, especially when the movie is based on a book. You can't use all the narrative used in the novel, so what do you pick? The writers of this movie sure knew how to pick the exact right lines and nothing more, nothing less. Also there were a lot of fun effects used, mostly the cinematography: zooming, angles and such.Let's Go to Prison feels weirdly fresh. The idea feels used, but the movie itself feels different from the typical movies of this genre. It was a lot different from what I expected, a lot funnier and a lot cleverer. I think I actually liked this movie.

When a career criminal's plan for revenge is thwarted by unlikely circumstances, he puts his intended victim's son in his place by putting him in prison... and then joining him.I remember when this film came out (2006) and it looked mildly funny but seems to have fell off the radar. Now (2016) I finally gave it a shot. It's not hilarious, but has its moments and definitely is one of a kind. Other than "Half Baked", I can't think of another prison comedy that compares. What really makes this interesting is how big Will Arnett has become. At the time, I'm sure he was known for "Arrested Development", but he has really blown up with "Lego Batman", "Bojack Horseman", "Flaked" and more... seeing him in this role is a treat.

Hilarious, just simply hilarious. Let's go to prison gives out the funny about prison life. Even though prison life is a very serious manner, just watching this movie will leave you in stitches. Here you have a well-respected lawyer who comes from a family of arbiters of the law. On the other side, there's a born trouble-maker who dealt with his father in the past, when he died, he went for his son. So when this gallant troublemaker gets to be his bunkmate in prison. There he meets some characters who gives him some tips on who to trust and who to avoid. One of the prisoners who happens to be called the "Barry White" of the cell-block, takes high interest in him. The prison love can make you lose you dignity, but the toilet wine tops it all. So instead of having the biggest riot that could cause a breakout, they create a death that makes a breakout. Now why would a high class man would like Tecnotronic's "Move This"? Guess every guy's got his own vices. This movie is a lot of fun, and a lot of laughs to go by. Watch this! 3 out of 5 stars.
