This sequel takes up one week after its predecessor "Left Behind" ended with the anti-Christ, "Nicholae Carpathia" (Gordon Currie) moving fast to consolidate his power. Realizing from Biblical prophecy what must happen, a small group of Christians band together to spread the gospel with what little time they have remaining. On that same note, Nicholae Carpathia also has only a limited time as well and he wants to prevent everything that doesn't further his agenda from taking root. Anyway, rather than reveal the details and possibly ruin the movie for those who haven't seen it I will just say that this film is even better than the original in that it has more drama and suspense. I do think, however, that a person should see the first movie before watching this one so that they will be able to fully understand what is going on. Likewise, as I have said before, it isn't necessary to believe or agree with all of the issues raised by films like these. All that is necessary to enjoy it is to have a capacity to respect the beliefs of others even if their beliefs are different than yours. In any case, I think this movie is definitely above average and I have rated it accordingly.

First of all, I want to say that I did not watch the first one, and after seeing the movie, I couldn't understand how something like this was ever sold to the public in the first place. My first impression was that this had to be a cheap commercial for a Christian community or something. The acting was awful, the script was really bad and the dialogue full of things only priests would try to say in public. This could've been a great film, because the story is there, but the film makers destroyed it.I would only recommend this movie to religious people who love really bad commercials.

The quartet of believers from the first Left Behind film are back again as the Tribulation Force. This is the name that Kirk Cameron, Brad Johnson, Janaya Stephens, and Clarence Gilyard have taken for themselves. Their mission is to frustrate the plans of the UN Secretary General, Carpathy who they see as the anti-Christ and to speed along the events spoken of in revelation. This film concerns the two witnesses who appear at the sight of Solomon's second temple, looking very much like ancient prophets of old. It is my understanding that they are normally identified as Enoch and Elijah who according to the Old Testament God took to heaven without either of them going through death.I don't think it's any accident that the Left Behind series bears a very intentional resemblance to the Star Wars Trilogy. It certainly is being marketed that way.Brad and Kirk with no little subterfuge take on the job of making sure the message of the two witnesses gets broadcast to the world as Revelations says it would. Of course they get a bit of help from Elijah and Enoch when the two of them do a Godzilla number on the troops commanded by Carpathy. As in the first Left Behind film, the best job is done by Gordon Currie as Carpathy. Will it in fact be a trilogy, the third film is already out and I've not seen it. As in the first film the view of any kind of internationalism is some how Satanic is if anything more prevalent here. Islam frowns on the photographing of the human image. Otherwise they might be competing with Christianity with a film that supports their view of an Apocalypse that ends with the triumph of that faith. I don't think financing would be a problem.

I've never read the Left Behind series, nor knew there was a book out for this. However, to me this movie, as was the first, was good. If you believe in the revelations, and believe that the anti-Christ will come and that those with faith in god, who accept Jesus Christ as our savior and that those who did would be whisked away to heaven, then I suggest watching this movie. This is a movie for Christian and regilious followers, as well as some of the semi-believers or those that just want to sit down to a good movie. This movie follows greatly to the ideals of the revelations, and in some cases, Christ followers manages to deter Nicholis (Satan).I feel this was a great movie to watch. Good as the first.
